Non league striker Eddie Simon ‘breaks a record’ with his fourth straight hat-trick during his side’s 13th win in a row on Saturday.
He is believed to be the first player to achieve four consecutive league hat-tricks in English football’s top eight divisions.
Walton & Hersham currently sit second in the Isthmian South Central Division and are just one point behind leaders Basingstoke Town, who lost to Hanworth Villa at the weekend.
The two teams will face each other next Saturday in a what should be some contest and a huge attendance expected for that one.
Simon has been a big part of Walton & Hersham’s success throughout this campaign. He has led the line for club and played a vital role in their recent form., and it’s mad to think he wasn’t a first choice striker at the start of the season.
In a 3-1 win against Uxbridge on Saturday, he is said to be the first within the top eight tiers of English football to earn the match ball in four consecutive matches.
He put his side ahead on the 49th minute, before scoring a second stunning goal nine minutes later. The forward received the ball at the box’s edge and whipped a curling effort into far corner, sending away fans into a frenzy.
Simon broke the record in the 69th minute, taking advantage of a slip by an Uxbridge defender and poked through the legs the onrushing goalkeeper.
A fourth straight hat-trick for @eddiesimon_10 helped the Swans to 13 straight wins yesterday, shattering the English hat-trick record in the process 🎩

Speaking after his side’s win, manager Scott Harris said: “It’s an important three points before next week’s potential title decider against Basingstoke! Another great performance from Eddie Simon proved his worth to the team.”
Harris praised the record breaker, previously telling Surrey Live: “He’s just found that niche where he is just a finisher. A lot of his goals have been one-touch finishes in the box, finishing off balls that are squared across to him.
“We’ve almost had to limit him a little bit because he’s such a good footballer and his tendency was always to float in and join in midfield and get involved in the build-up but that can be to the detriment of being in the right place to finish chances.
“I think these days, modern number nines, that’s what they are doing more, rather than getting involved in the donkey work. He literally is there as a finisher and he is doing it superbly well.”
Can Simon hit yet another hat-trick against leaders Basingstoke next weekend and put Walton & Hersham in pole position to win the league.

Purely out of interest, who confirmed this record? @NonLeagueHQ1 can confirm this season that is correct, even Morrison Hashii @Samurairovers (he of 56 goals this season got 3 on the trot but fell 1 short on the 4th match and Ross Hannah of @RMFC1919 got 3 on the trot. Amazing!
