Non league side come back from 4-1 down at half time before going on to win 6-4

A result from the Southern Football League Division One South has gone viral overnight with some calling it one of the best comebacks in non league history.

Away side Moneyfields broke the deadlock thanks to midfielder Jake Raine after just 10 minutes, however for them in the rest of the half, it went rapidly downhill.

Hosts Melksham Town were level just three minutes later when Tom Warren equalised before Jack Ball turned the scoreline around to make it 2-1 two minutes later.

Luke Ballinger made it 3-1 after half an hour and then Ball added his second and Melksham’s fourth with seconds of the first half remaining.

Moneyfields were a completely different side when they came out when they stunned the 306 in attendance by hitting five goals in 21 minutes.

Steve Hutchings scored a brace in the 53rd and 54th minutes then Lewis Fennemore made it 4-4 on the 57th minute.

The goals didn’t stop there unbelievably as Conor Bailey gave the Moneys’ the lead on the 61th minute and put the ball in the back of the net again with 25 minutes remaining.

According to The News Portsmouth, it was the first time Moneyfields, who are under caretaker management, had scored six times in a league game since entering the Southern League in 2017.

Also prior to this, the away side had scored just 11 times in their opening eight league matches of the current campaign and failed to find the net in their last two matches.
