One fan stated that four youths were seen ‘running away laughing from gates to ground’.
The club chairman, Steve Coulthard, was pictured just after fighting with the fire…

Prior to the fire, the game was a thriller with the score at 3-2 to Penrith, and that continued after the incident.
After regrouping, the away side’s Martyn Coleman made it 4-2, powering the ball into the far corner on the 70th minute.
Shortly after, six minutes to be precise, Coleman again extended Penrith’s lead, beating the keeper for his hat-trick.
Bishop Auckland got themselves a third through Christopher Winn’s header from a corner in the 87th minute, but it was all too late to spark a late comeback.
Following the fire incident during the game, fans along with some who were at the match gave their reaction, some angry, others just hoped everyone was ok – find out what they had to say on the next page.
