Shocking scenes at a non league match this weekend when it was stopped on 88th minute after a fan threatens to stab a team’s players.

At 4:49pm, Hallam FC tweeted: “88’ – The game is stopped as an Albion Sports fan is threatening to stab Hallam players. 2-2”

Four minutes later, Hallam added: “90’ – We’re back underway now that the abusive fan has been removed from the ground. 2-2 #HallamFC”

Before saying: “FULL TIME. A very strange afternoon here with the game finishing 2-2. Hallam seeing out the last ten minutes with ten men.

“It’s very easy to jump to conclusions in moments like this, however we must say that @AlbionSportsAFC did a brilliant job in removing the person involved. This is not what their club is about. #HallamFC”

Footballer Danny South said after the Northern Counties East League Premier Division fixture: “That’s a first for me. Getting threatened by some one to stab me in head. Some strange characters about. Oh well!”

@COG_1998 tweeted: “Been following Hallam for most of my life. In that time I’ve seen and heard some shite at games. A fan going “I’ll stab you in the head” to a player tops the lot. @AlbionSportsAFC deserve credit for removing the individual quickly the main thing is nobody’s hurt.💙💙💙”

The morning after the game, Hallam tweeted: “We are removing our post relating to the incident from the game yesterday. The referee and the home side dealt with the incident quickly and professionally. There will be an FA investigation into the incident. We will make no further comment. #HallamFC”
