A non league match was abandoned minutes prior to full time after a player had suffered what was at the time a worrying injury.
Biggleswade FC took on and were beating Aylesbury United 3-2 in an entertaining Southern League – Central Division encounter on Saturday afternoon.
A deflected Max Hercules volley beat the stranded Biggleswade keeper to put the away side one up after just seven minutes.
Then on the 27th minute, Biggleswade skipper Tom Coles intercepted just over the halfway line, spotted the keeper off his line and brilliantly executes it.

Not long into the second half, it was the hosts’ turn to go in front, Alfie Williams with a super finish after a great cross from George Bailey.
In the 64th minute, the scoreline was once again level, fantastic build up play with Aylesbury’s Jamie Rudd involved throughout as he found the back of the net after a 1-2 with Ben Seaton.
In the 90th minute, Biggleswade came up late with a winner from a corner following a red card for Alan Fleming.
The referee then called for the whistle after 5 minutes of treatment for Aylesbury United’s Ty Deacon. A head to head collision with Luke Oswick after jumping for a header in their box.
It was initially reported that Deacon could have a potential spinal injury. However a few hours later, he had some good news from the hospital, that initial results showed no broken bones, ‘just’ tears and stretched muscles. One more further x-ray to confirm.
Thanks Everyone for all the messages i’m all good luckily just very sore and a few torn muscles #uptheducks?? @AylesburyUtdFC pic.twitter.com/XcYDRGPD8n

The referee finished the game early due to the injury. There was confusion, but he confirmed afterwards that the game was abandoned.
Before the game kicked off on Saturday, a group of Aylesbury United fans walked 14.5 miles from Buckingham Road to The Meadow to raise money…

According to rule 7 of the FA, abandoned matches are replayed at the same ground a week after the original match. Whatever is decided, just glad Ty is ok.

8.3.1 of the standard rule book applies, I think. To be decided by the Board as to whether it stands or not. Don’t blame Aylesbury if they look for a replay but given the cause it would be disappointing if they did.
