NINETEEN upsets in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round and the revised draw for the next stage

We take a look at the NINETEEN upsets that were caused in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round from midweek and the revised draw for the next stage.

Finally for many non league sides, they played their first competitive match since having their season halted in March then deemed null and void with some many missing out on promotion, playoffs and avoiding relegation.

Matches from the first qualifying round of the world’s oldest association football single knockout competition went ahead over the last few days, but with a difference.

Due to coronavirus lockdown rules, some ties were played behind closed doors or restricted amount of spectators, though for some clubs, they had their biggest ever attendance.

There were astonishingly nineteen upsets in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, and the biggest surprise of those being Sawbridgeworth Town from level 9 knocking out Glenn Tamplin’s Isthmian League outfit Romford with a 2-1 win.

Kieran Amos popped up in the last minute to score the Essex Senior League side’s winner, as you can see in the video below…
