Neil Warnock says he’s not done yet when speaking with Sky Sports, while revealing his plans with a number of clubs also being name-checked.
The veteran boss, 74, has reiterated a desire to return to football management next year, having not been in work since leaving Huddersfield Town back in September.
He helped guide them from 23rd to 18th in the Championship, sitting 9 points above the drop zone.
Warnock has in recent months been linked with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Queens Park Rangers and Rotherham United jobs in recent months.
He’s currently no a break, but says he has no plans to retire, but don’t work until February, so the rumours can really begin then.
“It will be nice to have a club mid-table that I can have a go getting into the play-offs rather than somebody bottom of the league” 😂

Warnock said via Sky Sports: “If there is another one (job) after Christmas, I will take it on board. I don’t work until February; it is usually February when I start work!
“It would be nice to have a club sort of mid-table that I could have a go at getting in the play-offs rather than somebody bottom of the league or second from bottom and I’ve got to just keep them up.
“Sharon (his wife) knows if I do get one (a club) for two or three months, she will let me go for two or three months.”
Neil Warnock has also expressed a desire to work in Scotland, he said: “There are some lovely clubs. I’ve always wanted to have a go at Celtic and Rangers. I love Rangers. I’m a Rangers fan as well down here, only because Ally McCoist is Rangers and it’s me and him against Alan Brazil [on Talksport] who’s a mad Celtic [fan].

“I remember going to Celtic when Gordon Strachan was there and he invited me into the office. Great day. I mean the passion – Celtic fans and Rangers fans. I’ve always thought the same about the Edinburgh clubs. Nick Montgomery, one of my old players, is managing Hibernian now so I hope they do really well.
“I remember applying for the Aberdeen job once and I never got a reply at all. I asked Laurent D’Jaffo, one of my ex-players who was at Aberdeen: ‘What’s it like up there Laurent?’ He went: ‘Gaffer, it’s the only place the seagulls never land! The coldest place on earth.’
“I never got a reply to Aberdeen but you just don’t know what’s around the corner. I’m fascinated with challenges now, so that’s what I want to do. If there is another one after Christmas, I’ll take it on board.”

Meanwhile, ex-footballer turned pundit Carlton Palmer spoke more to Football League World about Warnock’s stance, saying: “Neil Warnock has intimated he is up for returning to management in the new year. Neil and his wife Sharon have an agreement that for three months of the year he can go and manage.
“Neil’s preference is to manage a club in mid-table, where he could have a go at getting them into the play-offs as opposed to a job where his objective is to keep a club up..
“Jobs that appear after Christmas are normally firefighting (safe from relegation), so with that in mind, in the Championship, maybe Norwich or Swansea, who are currently underperforming.
“Or in League One, maybe Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic or Reading, who look like they may be getting new owners, even if it is to keep them up.
“Neil will select whichever club it is carefully. as he’ll come in after the January transfer window, so he’ll be working with what he’s got for the remainder of the season.”
Here’s what fans had to say as Neil Warnock says he’s not done yet while revealing his plans with a few clubs name-checked…
@Cabbles14: Pack it in Neil. Give the public what they really need. A show on ITV1 with you and Roy Hodgson touring market towns of Britain, participating in local customs, cheese rolling that sort of thing. Neither of you would be allowed to discuss football, and it would be on Tues nights
@Maccydoon: Hopefully there will be a vacancy at Chief Executive of the Premier League once the Independent Regulator gets involved.
@mightyquinn89: @MorecambeFC
@canarynorwich: I would love him at Norwich always wanted him here. It will never happen but I can always hope 🤞
@stevenjonporter: @warnockofficial come to derby please!!
@AndyWhy20855723: Norwich are available 👍
@sarahjbakes9: @NorwichCityFC 👀 💛💚 I’d take him on a short term deal to shake things up… not everyone’s cup of tea but I’m sure he’d get the players fired up. #ncfc
@ClareWilso55416: Barnsley fans would have ya ❤️
@DanRSMiddleton: @warnockofficial the Birmingham job will hopefully be open by Feb. Can’t promise mid table though. 2nd from bottom more likely.
@Saddlersgirl1: Walsall fan here dreaming🤣
@DavidTh23382906: Legend of the game was gutted the way the Boro handled him and way he was finished 🥴
@jakemilsom3: @waelalqadi get it done ✍️
@joshfeltham371: Give him the England job would do a better job the than Southgate right now #warnock
@United_Leeds18: Just afraid of a Relegation on his cv that’s all
@MatthewStratfo9: Shame it’s not Bristol City would of been awesome
@wally_carl: Get him in 🐏🐏🐏 #DCFC
@mumfyNsons: So Watford then ? 😅
@stuartroberts18: How do you like Birmingham Neil….. there may well be a vacancy in the new year!!! #KRO
@Neil_T83: Get him in at derby! #DCFC #dcfcfans
@DeanLomas6: Job coming up at Huddersfield in the new year
@ArmchairVilla: Okay Neil, then why don’t you stop accepting jobs from clubs that are in a perilous position then? because the more you accept these type of jobs the more the remaining clubs put you in the category of a saviour and not a builder, I thought that was pretty obvious really? 🤷🏼♂️
