The much anticipated National League fixtures for the 2022/23 season are revealed and it’s got a huge amount of people talking.
The Latics will be playing non league football for the first time having finished second bottom of League Two in 2021-22 to end their 116-year stay in the Football League. Scunthorpe were relegated out of the EFL after 72 years.
Dorking Wanderers were promoted to this level for the first time in their history last season, while York City, Maidstone United and Gateshead return to the National League.

NATIONAL LEAGUE STATEMENT:
A thrilling opening day has been thrown up as fans, managers and players discover what’s in store in the National League.
The fixtures are out and August 6 can’t come soon enough – the countdown is well and truly on to the new season now!
A promoted club takes one on of the big title favourites as Dorking Wanderers host Paul Cook’s Chesterfield.
Wrexham start at home looking to put their play-off semi-final behind them as Eastleigh visit north Wales.
Solihull Moors’ season also ended in heartache, pictured, and they have a tough game to get going, away to Aldershot Town.
Maidstone United start their National League return with a trip to Altrincham as Notts County – not under new head coach Luke Williams – host Maidenhead United.
The two clubs coming down from the EFL can take inspiration of course from Grimsby Town.
Scunthorpe United meet Yeovil Town as Oldham Athletic have a tricky trip to Torquay United as they look for an instant return.
Barnet meet FC Halifax Town, Gateshead go to Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend United will welcome Boreham Wood.
Bromley take the short trip to Wealdstone as York City fans get the home opener they wanted – John Askey’s team get a visit from Woking.
