Morgan Gibbs-White added to England squad after Nottingham Forest fans aim dig at Thomas Tuchel

Morgan Gibbs-White has been added to England squad after Nottingham Forest fans aim a dig at Thomas Tuchel on Saturday afternoon.

The 25 year old wasn’t initially in Thomas Tuchel’s squad, leaving the football world baffled, and lead to chants from the away end at Ipswich, Forest singing “Thomas Tuchel, what a w***er, what a w***er.”

MGW is in hot form, helping Forest with five goals and six assists as his side look on course for Champions League qualification.

But there was no place for him in Tuchel’s first 26-man Three Lions with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Elliot Anderson were also noticeable omissions from the squad who get set to play Latvia and Albania in World Cup qualifiers.

But on Sunday night, it was confirmed that Gibbs-White comes in as replacement for the injured Cole Palmer.

Tuchel said when initially leaving out MGW: “Morgan, Elliot and Callum play on such a high level every week and they are the high-fliers of the league.

“Elliot, for example, can still play for the Under-21s so he will be close by at St George’s Park.

“I see Elliot Anderson as a No8, Morgan as a No10 and Callum as a winger.

“If you look at our squad you can also see they have huge competition on their position – world-class players who have proved themselves on the same level as Nottingham Forest, who have proved themselves in international football and even Champions League.

“They know it. They accept it. It is never easy to bring this message. It is never easy to take the message in.

“But I just can tell everyone that we acknowledge the outstanding season they have and the calls were very close.”

Twitter users gave their reaction with Morgan Gibbs-White added to England squad after Nottingham Forest fans aim a dig at Thomas Tuchel…

@nffcalways1: MGW should tell Tuchel to bollocks, he’s got better things planned now like binge watching Netflix #nffc

@lardlikesdogs: Should have told him to fuck off.

@dalesilvermat3: I’m happy but I swear if you get injured now I’ll handcuff myself to the railings at St George’s park. Look after yourself please sweet prince and well done ❤️

@antbrianlord: Tell Tuchel to fuck off! #NFFC

@OshJones25: Should have been there all along Mr Tuchel

@Panks80: Buzzing for him- but won’t forget how Tuchel treated him. He should never have been 2nd choice. He can still do one #nffc

@MarkJac38962322: Shouldn’t have needed adding, should have been in in the first place. Now show him why MGW. 🔥

@Jcov1998: Should’ve told him to do one.

@Forest_No_22:
Don’t show up Morgs.
Tuchel doesn’t deserve you

@TriaNffc: Should’ve been in it from the beginning 🙄

@JGNFFC_: now for the inconvenience you caused, drop someone else for hudson-odoi

@PrezziePrez: Why the change of decision is it because TT was absolutely slatted for picking players on reputation and not form. MGW should have been one of the first names on that squad first impressions matter TT

@JillianJade22: About time! Morgan Gibbs White should have been one of the first names on the squad list He’s the most in form 10 in the league. Top class attacking midfielder. Now time to get Callum Hudson Odoi called up as well. Sort it out!

@sladeNFFC: Should’ve been picked anyway

@manicsaintbloke: Shouldn’t of been called up cause someone dropped out should of been called up instead of Henderson

@_ollieshone: Shouldn’t be ‘cover’ should be there on merit anyway, still absolute bullshit don’t get it twisted 👍🏻

@ReissNFFC: Delighted for MGW. He should have been in from the off but least he was next up for Mr Tuchel 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@AO1865: I would love absolutely nothing more than for him to get a goal off the bench against Albania and to do his celebration infront of Tuchel 😂

@jaacknffc: At least we didn’t overreact

@butcher809: Must of seen all the comments and done a U-turn one of our best players nice one

@StephenMoo55808: Delighted for him but doesn’t detract from Tuchel’s original selection as he should have been included there.

@nffc999: The amount of comments suggesting MGW should tell Tuchel where to go are daft, be the bigger man and take the opportunity if he gets some minutes, that will speak volumes about him, and will stand him in good stead when Eddie Howe takes the job. #NFFC
