Morecambe unveil new centenary kits and a crest, which was published on Friday morning, and it’s gone down well with fans.
The crest, which can be seen below, is in the colour of gold and an combination of the club’s previous logos matching the town’s famous coat of arms with the new Shrimps design that the club reverted to in recent years.’
Co-chairman, Rod Taylor, said: “We felt it was vital to mark our centenary year with a special commemorative crest.
“We are very proud to have represented this fantastic town for 100 years and it was important to us all to include an element of its heritage in this very special crest.
“I am very proud and happy with the new crest and believe it embodies everything that we, as Morecambe fans, are proud of, our town, our club and our supporters.”
The home and away kits were revealed on their Crowdfunder donation page, which has already raised over £4,000.
On the launch of the crowdfunding campaign, Commercial Manager Martin Thomas said: “The current pandemic stretches way beyond the football industry. However, the club feels a very real sense of responsibility to do everything it can to support our stakeholders – many of them members of the Shrimps faithful themselves.”
“It is not enough for us to simply sit tight and hope that it all blows over. By bringing forward a number of opportunities for next season, we are able to ensure cashflow in the short term, whilst also giving a little back to our local NHS heroes who are working so incredibly hard to keep us all safe and healthy.”
The campaign will include a broad range of excellent value opportunities including ticket packages, centenary kit pre-orders, sponsorship opportunities and VIP experiences from the upcoming 2020/21 season.
Included in that are never before offered director experiences, for both home and away fixtures, a broad range of hospitality packages, match tickets and pre-order options for the highly anticipated home and away 2020/21 centenary kits.
In order to ensure that this campaign shows the club’s appreciation for those who are working so hard to keep us all safe, we will donate one match ticket for the 2020/221 season to NHS staff from Morecambe Bay NHS Trust and other key workers for every £100 raised in our crowdfunding campaign. We will also offer fans the opportunity to donate further rewards to the Trust as part of the scheme.
