Miron Muslic becomes instant hit with Plymouth fans after his first words as new head coach, following Wayne Rooney’s dismissal.
The 42 year old has made a strong first impression on Argyle fans following his appointment as the new head coach.
His first post via Instagram have resonated well with the supporters, writing: “Your colours are now a part of me, and I will wear them with pride!”
Muslic, who succeeded Wayne Rooney, will have his first interview published on Monday, but expressed a clear vision for how he wants to take Argyle forward and demonstrated tactical awareness, which has been well-received by the fanbase.
His track record at Cercle Brugge, where he led the team to European football, adds credibility to his promises of revitalising the team’s performance.
The fans are hopeful that Muslic’s tactical acumen and leadership will help steer the club away from the relegation zone, where they currently find themselves at the bottom of the Championship table.
His appointment has sparked a sense of optimism and excitement among the supporters, eager for a fresh start under his guidance.

STATEMENT:
Argyle can confirm Miron Muslic as the club’s new Head Coach on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Muslic was most recently the manager of Cercle Brugge where he had an impressive record, winning 43 of his 101 games in charge as he took the Belgian side from a lowly domestic position to European football.
Highly rated throughout Europe, the 42-year-old also has a reputation for a courageous football style and developing and nurturing young players. Miron has further management experience at Austrian sides Ried and Floridsdorfer AC.
Muslic beat off competition from several high calibre candidates to become Argyle’s number one choice with the Board, and Chairman Simon Hallett is delighted to bring him to the club.
He commented: “Miron had a clear vision of how he wanted to take Argyle forward and showed a depth of tactical awareness that made it clear exactly how he wanted the team to set up and play.
“He comes with glowing reviews from his time at Cercle Brugge where he took a team from a lowly league position to European football which is no mean feat.
“I want to welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing him have an immediate impact on the team.”
Miron will be in the stands for tomorrow’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Brentford alongside Chairman Simon Hallett.
First-team coach Kevin Nancekivell will form part of Muslic’s backroom team, with further confirmation of the make-up of his staff in due course.
We will have our first chat with our new Head Coach on Monday where you can find the exclusive interview on Argyle TV, available to all.

Here’s how Twitter users reacted as Miron Muslic becomes instant hit with Plymouth fans after his first words as new head coach…
@Resurgam96: Fucking brilliant. Risky move but one worth taking I think. Feel bad for the guy cause everyone wanted Schuey but let’s back the guy
@VinceRennie: Apart from Schuey this is the only other name linked with us that made me think ‘yeah, ok, I can get on board with him’. Excited to see what style he brings to us as long as it’s not the hoofball he had at Brugge. Welcome to the green army Muslic
@JoeRendle: Massive gamble for a club rock bottom of the championship. Think a lot of a fan base will need convincing which won’t be easy with the squad we currently have. Let’s see where we end up at the end of the season 🤞🏻💚
@Just_Dave96: I’ve never seen anyone this happy to take charge of argyle. He’s either amazing or an idiot
@bendixon100: Gotta get behind him no matter what. đź’š
@Charlie72169993: Reading up more on him does massively change the way I instantly viewed him. Could be good, could be another Foster. I just hope he has the tools available to him to play some good football, along with a good backroom staff. Back him, let’s see how he does💚 #pafc
@RoddTrevor: Let’s be honest, he can’t do any worse. Still a big risk coming into a Championship dogfight with zero experience in this league. Not sure risks are the way forward right now. Says he has a vision of play but can the players do that. Has to get the best out of what they can do.
@Aaronpress1: All we need now is confirmation that Neil Dewsnip is gone or are @Argyle just going to carry on hoping we forget he exists? With this new gaffer and new ideas its a perfect chance to create real change #pafc
@aa_wilkinson: I’m genuinely excited about Muslic. I was keen to go down the trendy European route after SS v1. But I’m genuinely intrigued about his supposed direct/hoofball style, and how this fits with our squad & club ethos. Lots of Qs, but I’m here for it #pafc
@chrislaz_82: The more I read about the guy, the more intrigued and cautiously optimistic I am. Sure, it’s a risk. But feels a much more sensible appointment than Foster or Rooney #pafc
@CarlBarnard15: This negativity, people are so far down the Schuey hole it’s pathetic. Yes don’t get me wrong I would have gone there, but for whatever reason a deal was not reached, but I do like this appointment of Muslic, just because it’s not Schuey doesn’t mean this can’t work. #pafc
@PAFC_TB: Starting to feel cautiously excited now. Still feel that it should’ve been Schuey, but I think Muslic has something about him. Bring it on #pafc
