Middlesbrough to sue the EFL for failing to give points deduction to Derby last season

Fans took aim and mocked Boro chairman Steve Gibson after a story came out stating Middlesbrough are to sue the English Football League for failing to stick to their financial rules over Derby County’s sale of Pride Park…

Steve Gibson is a grass, pass it on

Hypocrisy after Steve Gibson and Boro got promoted in 2016 after selling their own tax loss to a parent company to turn it into revenue to help stay within FFP. The original loopholers! Stop crying Steve Gibson.

Stop crying Steve Gibson

Middlesbrough shouldn’t have to do this – the EFL need to get some balls and deal with this – if Derby haven’t broken any rules then say so – The English game at the very top is run by people who simply aren’t up to it

@samzala93: Derby offered the Boro chairman the chance to go through their accounts and he rejected it though?

@TonySoprano2020: All a joke really. Gibson moaning about Derby using a loophole, whilst using loopholes himself for Boro.

@buckly999: Hypocrisy at its best, Boro flaunted the rules when they sold on their tax bill recently and now they cry when another club does the same.

@miss_chell87: Salty Steve Gibson. The gift that keeps on giving

@Kyleguest: In the last 6 months Mel Morris has – Broken our transfer record ✅, Had Steve Gibson on strings ✅, Rattled the whole championship by selling the stadium to himself ✅, Appointed Phillip Cocu ✅, Got £4m for Lampard after 1 season ✅, Attracted Wayne Rooney to the club ✅

Rich Hollingworth: Gibson is a total embarrassment. Look at yourself and shit choice of managers as to why you can’t get promoted

Kenny Swaine: They bottled it themselves and went crying about teams ? I hope they get nowhere near the playoffs this season either
