Middlesbrough’s Rudy Gestede and some other of his teammates have been getting a slamming from fans after allegedly telling them to “fuck off” in their FA Cup upset at Newport County yesterday.
The insult toward to travelling Boro fans came after the final whistle confirmed the shock result, with supporters taking to social media to state that Adam Clayton and Mo Besic as well as Gestede criticised and ‘laughed’ at the abuse they were getting from the away end.

Robbie Willmott put the Amber Army in front just after the break when he fired home his effort – despite the keeper just about getting a touch – to make it 1-0 before Padraig Amond sealed the victory who was given too much space from a corner and hit the ball right into the top right corner.

Boro boss Tony Pulis said after the defeat, as quoted by Teesside Live: “The whole occasion, in the first half they completely and utterly ran over us.
“They dominated the game in every aspect. They scored a good goal, deserved to be winning. We were disappointed with the goal from the corner, one of our players switched off, they did that at our place so we knew about it. Unfortunately our lad switched off.
“It was bad night really but I don’t want to take anything away from Newport.
“We’ve got the best away record in the Championship. The majority of away games we’ve been very good. Today was a different challenge, different conditions and we didn’t cope with it.”
He also admitted that Newport were better than them, how much of a great result it was for their town but did talk about the conditions they played in.
“You can make excuses, I can sit here all day and talk about the delay, the pitch, the rain, the wind. They get paid good money to play a game of football.
“As much as I’m disappointed, you can’t criticise the team too much in respect of what they’ve done away from home.
“There’s an awful lot of disappointed staff and players, I hope. We’ve gone to West Brom on Saturday and won, the fans will have been a lot happier then they were today.”
