Match of the Day to return with classic highlights on Saturday nights starting from the 4th of April, it has been announced this week.
Matches will be chosen by pundits as the show adopts the new name of ‘Match of Their Day’ and first up is Alan Shearer, who will pick three classic matches in the first episode this weekend.
The show will be shown after the MOTD podcast on the top 10 goalkeepers, which airs on BBC One at 10:20pm.
Former England strikers turned pundits and presenters Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright will discuss some of their toughest opponents by choosing their 10 best goalkeepers of the Premier League era.
The programmes are part of a variety of sport content on the BBC and iPlayer, recently they’ve televised the captains and goalscorers podcast the last two weeks, both of which had over 2 million views.
As usual on Saturday, Dan Walker will be back with another episode of Football Focus at 12:00pm, then Guy Mowbray shows five classic World Cup matches in ‘World Cup Rewind’ at 2:30pm.
A full replay of a seven-goal last-16 thriller between France and Argentina at the 2018 World Cup will also be available to watch on the BBC Sport website, Red Button and BBC iPlayer at 3:30pm.
We’ll also do another article later this week, revealing what will be televised on Sky Sports and BT Sport. The last two weeks have been an incredible variety, such as European Cup classics, old Premier League matches, thrilling derbies, and EFL finals.

Sky ruined football, they started the greed, the quality has not been worth the extortionate cost to the supporters, it's all about greed and the pandemic has proven this!!!
