Leyton Orient replied with a GIF meme of a man with a surprised expression, reacting to Mark Goldbridge’s comment on The United Stand regarding the lack of transfer activity.
This reaction from the O’s went viral, leading to quite the reaction on social media, the irony and humour in Goldbridge’s comparison, as Leyton Orient, a League One side who most recently lost in the playoffs, is typically not mentioned in the same breath as a giant like Manchester United, especially regarding transfer market behaviour or ambition.

Mark Goldbridge said: “What a brilliant feeling it must be to have a president who comes out and says, we’re not thinking about plan b.
“We’re working night and day for this player that we want to build a team around.
“And also, not only that, they’ve put into place sponsorships and branding to pay for Osimhen. They’re that desperate to get him in.
“Galatasaray, hardly a European giant, not playing in one of the top five leagues in the world, bending over backwards to bring in Victor Osimhen.
“And what are Man United doing? Bending over, literally. We are not doing anything.

“So look, I don’t really know what’s gonna happen with the striker situation.

“And the justification is we’re in debt. Who put us in bloody debt?

Mark Goldbridge said: “Ole and those players need to realise that for many this is the worst United side they’ve seen in many years. It’s not over reaction. It’s not sensationalist. It’s factually crap. Yesterday was like Leyton Orient hosting City.
Leyton Orient replied: “Hmm, not quite. Our home record is actually good.”
Mark then tweeted “ratio”, which has since been deleted.
Leyton Orient added: “You’re a grown man.”
