Mark Cooper calls Forest Green fans ‘deluded’ and tells them to ‘get a life’ after his side produced a stunning comeback to win 4-3 at Mansfield Town.
Mansfield raced to an early two-goal lead through CJ Hamilton and Danny Rose, before Forest Green’s Farrend Rawson to score a brace either side of half-time to level the game for the away side.
Carl Winchester hit low from 20 yards out to make it 3-2 to FGR with 30 minutes to play, but Maynard hit home from a pass to seemingly snatch a point for his side.
However on the 96th minute, Aaron Collins got on the end of a cross from Joseph Mills and got the ball in the net to send those in the away end and the away dugout wild.
Head coach Mark Cooper however expressed how unhappy he was with the fans after the game, by telling some of them to “get a life” and to “grow up”.
He said in his post-match press conference: “We’ve gone from that to scoring four goals. It’s a long season, we have to keep going. I have full belief in the squad of players, but I still want to add to it..
“It’s about time some other people started believing in the players.
“We never looked out of the game. Their goalkeeper got man of the match. That tells the story. We had some brilliant chances in the first-half, and I thought the least we deserved was 2-1 down.
“Sometimes you find yourself down in a game; you don’t need the fans to start singing the manager out. It’s embarrassing. Forest Green – towards the top of the League Two table – wake up, get a life.
“There’s a majority of them there that are really good. There’s a few there that are absolutely deluded. They need to wake up and get behind the players. I don’t care what they think about me.”
Footage from when his side faced Bath City in a friendly did the rounds on social media, he could be heard saying “call yourself fans?!”…

I've said it all along, Mark Cooper blames EVERYONE except Mark Cooper. Outside fgr, he has the same popularity of Steve Evans.
