Manager-less Blackpool have approach ‘rejected’ from one Championship club’s assistant, it has been revealed today, as the search continues.
The League One side wanted to speak with Queens Park Rangers‘ John Eustace, however they’ve turned it down, despite Eustace holding interest in taking the job.

It comes just days after Oxford United did the same for Karl Robinson and Swindon Town also handed Richie Wellens a new contract after knocking back Blackpool’s request to bring him in at Bloomfield Road.
There is a new favourite for the job despite the rejections, that man is Liverpool’s under 23 coach Neil Critchley, who was in charge for the Reds’ FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury Town.
The 41 year old former footballer who played in the Football League First Division for Crewe Alexandra. His only appearance for them came in a 3–0 defeat away at Fulham during the 1999–2000.
He took up the job at Anfield to coach the under 18s, before being handed the under 23 role in 2017. Now he’s regarded as ‘one of the top coaches in Europe’ and is just one of 16 coaches in the country to have gained the highest possible qualification in the game.
This comes after he was hand-picked by the FA to take UEFA’s first elite badge course. (Facts and stats as mentioned by Blackpool Gazette)
David Dunn is currently in caretaker charge, and was left disappointed with his side’s performance despite beating Ipswich Town with a late winner.
The Tangerines currently sit 13th in the League One table, however are some way off the playoff places.
Fans gave their reaction as manager-less Blackpool have yet another approach ‘rejected’…
Don’t see the issue with clubs turning us down for their staff as it’s not the people themselves (although I know Robinson kind of did) also shows were going about things the correct way …….. although would still love us to poach someone else’s manager as who wants to be nice

@BlackpoolFC fuck off with John Eustace more like John Useless

Stop talking sense lad. Apparently it will be a complete and utter disaster unless we appoint Evatt!

Would be happy with that

Couldn’t doubt his coaching credentials, but seems an odd one given the desire for experience of league one.

I'd be happy for David Dunne to stay in some capacity especially if he gets continued use of the state of the art technology that Blackburn use to scout players!!! ?

I love the passion Dunn has brought to the club. Kicks every ball and celebrates like a fan when we score these last minute winners. Hopefully he’ll remain at the club in some capacity. I’d seriously consider him for the remainder of the season. ??♂️

What experience has evatt got? A season with Barrow Town… This Liverpool coach will have been work closely with klopp and with a very young team which we have a lot of young players..

Neil Critchley from Liverpool sounds an exciting one tbf, Klopp must rate him highly if not he wouldn’t have him as U23 manager. As fans we’ve got to trust the board, we’ve got the best owner we could wish for and a highly thought of board so I back them to get it right #UTMP? https://t.co/Qk80RRaV4b

Why is the managerial situation becoming such a shambles @BlackpoolFC? Here’s some thoughts: 1. You need to be more open and transparent with the fans 2. Don’t just appoint someone for the sake of it when Ian Evatt should be given a chance #blackpoolfc #ianevattin
