Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes drives off in a huff after exchange with Arsenal fans

Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes drives off in a huff after having an exchange with Arsenal fans at the traffic lights earlier this week.

The Portuguese midfielder got on the scoresheet with his side picking up a 3-2 victory at home to the Gunners on Thursday night.

His strike cancelled out Emile Smith Rowe’s opener and then Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice, either side of a strike from Martin Odegaard, to seal the points for United.

A video of Bruno Fernandes having what looked to be a playful back-and-forth with some Arsenal fans after the game has been published onto social media.

Fernandes and the lads in the vehicle chat about a fan’s fantasy football team, only for the footballer to then drive off after the fan reveals he has Mohamed Salah rather than Fernandes in his team.

“I don’t have you in fantasy,” said the supporter. “Who have you got?” Fernandes responded. Seconds later, the United man drove off in his car after hearing about Salah. This is great.

Fernandes has scored seven goals in 26 appearances for club and country this season, played a key role in last night’s 3-2 Premier League victory against Arsenal by scoring the equaliser just before the half time break.

After the game, he said the club need to take that momentum into upcoming games.

“Every win is important for us at this moment,” the 27-year-old told Amazon Prime. “We know that we have been through a lot of ups and downs, and it has been hard for us to come out of that.

“Today we got a great win, but we cannot stop here and be satisfied because we beat Arsenal. The next game is coming quick, so we have to put our heads on that straight away and be ready for that one.”

He also paid tribute to club legend Michael Carrick, who revealed he will step down as first-team coach following a spell as caretaker manager.

“I’ve said to him I was really mad to be off on his first game and I tell him now at the end of this game,” he continued.

“But honestly for me, Michael can be a really good manager in the future if he gets that chance.

“He knows how to speak, he knows a lot of football. He was one of the great players that not a lot of people talk about. For what I have seen he can be a top coach.”

Michael Carrick explains his decision to leave Man Utd to Amazon Prime: “It’s not been an easy decision to make to be honest but I feel it’s the right one and I feel quite happy.

“I’ve meant to take some time off after I finished playing and I promised the family that we would have some time together and it’s never happened. It feels like the right time to step away. I’ll be back around the place. I’m not disappearing. But it’s just the right time and what a way to finish. It’s a perfect night really.

“It’s 100 per cent my decision. I respected the club and I respected the new manager coming in and I wanted to make the decision before I had any contact with him or spoke to him.

“There was no crossover whatsoever. I thought it was the right thing to do for the club and for Ralf. Once I made the decision, that was final and I was happy with that.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to Amazon Prime: “It is what it is. If you concede three goals at Old Trafford, you make it very difficult to get a result.

“I’m disappointed with the way we conceded some of the goals. We had some really good periods. We got back in the game. When we scored the second one, we were in total control, but we threw it [away] again. We needed another two goals to win it and we were incapable of doing it.

“If you look at the game, you would say we deserved much more than what we got. But you get punished. Against this level of opponent, you cannot do some of the things we did.”
