Man Utd v Istanbul Basaksehir live match stream

Our live match stream ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League fixture Man Utd v Istanbul Basaksehir, kicking off at 8pm BST.

You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, the lineups, predictions and much more.

In the previous game, Man Utd won 1-0 against West Brom to seal their first home league win of season in controversial style; referee David Coote overturned a West Brom penalty after seeing a replay; then gave the Red Devils a spot-kick for handball; Bruno Fernandes’ initial penalty was saved but scored at the second time of asking to send the club to 10th in the Premier League table.

Istanbul Basaksehir played out an entertaining encounter against Besiktas, however lost 3-2. A Hutchinson (44′), C Larin (45+1′) and V Aboubakar (72′ pen) made it 3-0 to Besiktas, before Basaksehir hit back late on thanks to F Gulbrandsen (81′, 90+4′) though couldn’t get an equaliser.

PRESS CONFERENCES:

Man Utd’s Ole Gunner Solskjaer on ‘Lessons learnt from away game’: “The Turkish champions, you know it will be difficult. Nothing unexpected, but level of concentration needs to be better. Goals we conceded, we caused our own problems with our organisation. We need to be more patient, disciplined in our positioning.”

Ole on the response since then: “We played really well against Everton, won against West Brom with a clean sheet. Of course we want to carry on.”

Ole on team news: “We hope he (Pogba) is going to be available. We will see when we report tomorrow. Shaw, Jones out. Lingard is self-isolating after contact with a positive case.”

Ole on Gulbrandsen threat: “Well obviously I prepared a team last time, last time Demba Ba was the most likely to play but I warned my coaches about Frederik. Quick, strong, that’s the player I know.”

Ole on United’s long-term vision: “How long have you got? It deserves more than one sentence. We are a team who want to attack quickly, quick on the break, quick attacking players. More and more teams drop back, we need a team which can break teams down. Against Everton we scored from crosses, from long attacks and winning goal from counter-attack. We don’t want one style of play, but to have players expressing their talents.”

Ole on needing a vital win on Tuesday: “It is always a great question. The answer is very (important to win). We need at least 10 points to go through, might even need 12 points, so we are going to go in trying to win it and win it well.”

Ole on struggling against smaller sides: “We are trying to develop the squad and the team to become good at all different phases of the game. Everton was perfect example. The game decides what type of game it becomes, first goal etc. Always decided on moments and we are moving in the right direction.”

Manchester United will have to wait a little longer to confirm their progress after losing to Istanbul Basaksehir in the last round of games.

The Turkish club’s manager confident that his players will give their all for a second straight win over the English team.

“Winning the first match against United has put us in a competitive position in the group. We have a real chance now to get the second or third place,” Okan Buruk said at a news conference in Manchester.
