Man Utd star likes ‘Solskjaer out’ post on Instagram as dressing room fallout emerges

One particular Man Utd star likes an ‘Solskjaer out’ post on Instagram as the Old Trafford dressing room fallout emerges.

Red Devils midfielder Jesse Lingard has seemingly agreed with a post which was uploaded by a fan account and showed several images from the side’s sobering 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday with the caption #OleOut.

The 28 year old player remained an unused substitute throughout United’s shocking display on the weekend, as the side were reduced to ten men and Solskjaer looked devoid of ideas.

And it appears the England international either liked the post unintentionally or in agreement before un-liking it, but not without eagle-eyed supporters managing to spot it first.

The midfielder un-liked the post but fans managed to screenshot the sly dig

The post in question featured several pictures, including Sir Alex Ferguson’s look of anger at what he witnessed on Sunday as well as Cristiano Ronaldo kicking out at Curtis Jones.

While Lingard’s intentions by liking it are unclear, some users have taken it to mean Solskjaer has lost the dressing room and that the player is possibly hinting at his manager’s impending departure.

Lingard, who was sent out on loan in January last term after being side-lined by the Norwegian, was spotted sharing words with a United fan while warming up pitch-side against Liverpool.

The midfielder claimed on Twitter that he was told to “work harder” by the fan, to which he replied: “I’m not even on the pitch”.

Lingard’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and his Man United future remains unresolved, despite Solskjaer previously stating he wished to see the attacker sign a new deal.

But given the uncertainty surrounding Solskjaer’s own future and the likelihood that he could leave for free in 2022, Lingard could hold talks with other suitors in January.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kept his Manchester United players in the dressing room for two hours as he called on them to “fight” after their Liverpool drubbing.

The Norwegian unloaded on his players and warned them that days of intense scrutiny were set to come their way.

Internally doubts are emerging about Solskjaer’s credentials and his ability to guide United back to the summit.

The Daily Mail reports that the 48-year-old has urged his players to stick together after the defeat or risk capitulating.

He gave a dressing room speech, which came just eight days after he did a similar trick – albeit for less time – at Leicester last weekend.

“It was made clear to the players that they all, including the manager, would get battered this week,” said a source.

“But the message was that the team either fights each other or fight back together.”

It is understood that Eric Bailly openly challenged Solskjaer in the aftermath of the wretched 4-2 defeat at Leicester when he reputedly asked the manager “why he picked a centre-half who was not fit”.

Bailly was overlooked for Harry Maguire, who started despite having only had one training session on the grass after three weeks out with a calf injury and his patent lack of fitness showed during an error strewn display.

Maguire kept his place against Atalanta and Liverpool, despite similarly poor showings and nothing like we saw when he was playing in the Euros.

Bailly was also one of several players to question some of Solskjaer’s decisions during an exchange of views before the Atalanta game last Wednesday.

One senior player is understood to have asked why Donny van de Beek, who has made just four league starts in his 14 months at Old Trafford, has been routinely passed over.

Others have questioned why Jesse Lingard has been frozen out and why others, such as Nemanja Matic, have been used so sparingly when the form of so many regulars has been so poor, with concerns raised about the tendency to keep repeating the same mistakes and the “favouritism” shown to some.

Several sources have pointed out that, in addition to the lack of cohesion defensively, there is a big disconnect between the team’s glittering array of attacking players best reflected in their work out of possession.

“You won’t find one player who doesn’t like Ole on a personal level, he’s a nice guy, but we’re at a stage where players have lost trust in his tactics and lost trust in his selections,” one source said.

Cristiano Ronaldo was left alarmed by Manchester United’s dismal form and the lack of understanding with Mason Greenwood has not gone unnoticed by team-mates.

Greenwood has been one of United’s better performers this season, yet Ronaldo has struggled to strike up a bond with the 20-year-old on the pitch and has been frustrated at times by some of the striker’s decision-making.

Ronaldo seemed to hint at tensions with some of the club’s younger players during an interview with Canadian streaming service DAZN before the Liverpool game.

“I don’t mean only in football, this new generation since probably 1995 they are thinking different, the life, the football, the struggles, this has to come from inside of you,” Ronaldo said.“You have to accept some times that you don’t agree with. I remember in our generation, 1985, it was more difficult to play in the first team. I remember how tough it was to play for Manchester United and even in the national team but if you see around the world now things are coming a little bit easier and they don’t appreciate the lot. This is my point of view.”

The Athletic have reported Solskjaer asked his players for their thoughts on what was going wrong at the back specifically.

‘More than one’ is said to have directly called out Solskjaer as a problem while also believing he isn’t at the level of other top six managers.

Tactics used over the weekend are also said to have confused some of United’s players when it came to pressing.

The report claims United do not train much in regards to pressing and players were bemused at the ‘exact coordination’ in action.

Fans have reacted as Man Utd star Jesse Lingard likes a particular ‘Solskjaer out’ post on Instagram as the dressing room fallout emerges…

@RassyMUFC: This is just sad

@anubhavdeoli7: Jesse’s Ole out because of them false promises of game time

@MaxK02983441: How do you find this behaviour acceptable? Utter disrespect to his manager and a club legend. Jesse’s only still at the club because of Ole. These players throw the manager under the bud everytime because it’s easier to replace a manager than a whole squad. Ridiculous

@LouisEllerby: Wdym jesse is only at the club bc of ole, ole let him go on loan to West Ham and he played his best football in years? Ole didn’t rejuvenate his career david moyes did if anything

@karlos4509: Can we blame lingard wanting a new manager no the fans want one the player want one the way ole has been so disrespectful to players like donny and Bailey and Henderson it’s time for him to go can’t show leadership and management is not their also no tactics orgame plan please go

@DroughtRock: Interesting how the faith in the dressing room seems to erode about once every three years, right on schedule.

@shaunkrish: Greenwood should touch Ronaldo’s foot and learn the trade from the GOAT

@theunitedway__7: Greenwood should be the striker with Sancho right & Rashford left so they can press from the front and counter with pace.

@Chr15Wilkinson: If this is true, the players need to give their heads a wobble. Their job is to play for that shirt, not decide whether they’ll play well if they rate the manager. Anyone who doesn’t put in 100% should be transferred out at the first opportunity. No exceptions.

@Michael_JG7: If players are openly airing grievances about him, it’s the beginning of the end.

@Skins0680: Been blatantly obvious for weeks this, Greenwood has been one of our better players this season but if your gonna play Ronaldo you have to set the team up to suit him, Greenwood coming inside and shooting every time he gets the ball isn’t doing that.

@Medicinekiddo: Exactly, I mean the guy wants to always score a screamer every time he gets type ball… Salah could have gone for a screamer but opted to pass to Keita in build up of their first goal, because he was in a better position… Greenwood just starts shooting practice every match…

@ChrisWi77016097: how about spending 2 years chasing sancho, finally getting him for £75m and then revealing that there was no planning on how to integrate him into the side. thats £75m the glazers could have taken out in dividends and bought a nice yacht with

@OfficialJooe: When this stuff comes out you know he’s done

@UtdRoo: Donny, Greenwood, Matic, Lingard calling out the manager at the same time lmao he’s finito….. Clear your desk Ole Conte is waiting outside. #mufc #OleOut

@MUFC_Tom18: Lingard literally liked an Instagram post saying Ole Out – how Ole still hasn’t been sacked is a joke. It won’t just be Lingard feeling that way either
