Manchester City will be looking to return to winning ways in the when they welcome a struggling West Bromwich Albion team to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night. They come into the game off the back of a 0-0 draw with rivals Manchester United at the weekend.
The Citizens have struggled to show their best form in the league this season, picking up just 19 points from 11 matches to sit down in ninth position in the Premier League table.
City have struggled to show their best form in the league this season, picking up just 19 points from 11 matches to sit down in ninth position in the table.

There is certainly pressure on Guardiola’s men to collect all three points on Tuesday ahead of a difficult game away to Southampton next weekend, and the former champions have an excellent recent record against the Baggies, winning each of the last 14 matches between the two sides in all competitions.
West Brom, meanwhile, will enter Tuesday’s clash in Manchester off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon. The Baggies recovered from an early setback to level the scores in the second period, but Dwight Gayle came up with an 82nd-minute winner for Steve Bruce’s side.
The Baggies have the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season, conceding 25 times, while their only win of the season was a 1-0 success over fellow strugglers Sheffield United on November 28.
Only Sheffield United – bottom with one point from 12 matches – have a worse record than West Brom this term, with Slaven Bilic’s team currently 19th, having picked up just six points from their opening 12 matches.
The two clubs last met in January 2018, with City recording a 3-0 home victory at the Etihad…
PRESS CONFERENCE:
Pep Guardiola
RIP Houllier…
It is sad news. on behalf of Man City, deep condolences to his family. He was an incredibly lovely person. I met him through UEFA or when we played against Lyon or when I was playing for Barcelona. Sad news for all world football and all the best for his family
March and April planning…
I know everyone has a tendency to figure out what is going to happen but I don’t know. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow against West Brom so I cannot think about three or four months or next season. Everything else is speculation.
Champions League draw…
I learned when I was in Germany how big and important and historic they are as a team. It is a club that I respect a lot, the quality and beauty of their football.
To go through in a group with Shakhtar, Inter and Real with two exceptional games against Shakhtar. The only concern I have is arrive in the best condition possible in February against them. I saw the highlights, I didn’t see much of them properly and we start to work on this from now on.
Aguero fitness…
Today he trained. The last two or three days he could not. We are going to decide tomorrow.
New phase of the season…
In the Premier League so far the teams in Europe play in different conditions to the others and now everyone plays the same amount of games until February. We are lucky to play in Europe but now is the time to play games.
In my experience, every season we play the Champions League to the latter stages so I am used to playing more part of the season with less recovery than the others.
We accept it because it means you are playing in the bigger stages. Right now with how it happened all around the world the recovery doesn’t matter as much.
Laporte to return?
It depends on the performance. John (Stones) is performing well and that’s why he is playing but there are a lot of games. Everyone has to be ready. Be ready and don’t complain much because you may have a chance around the corner.

THATSAGOAL TIP:
Kevin De Bruyne Anytime Goalscorer – 10/11 with FanTeam
The Manchester derby was a let down for neutrals with not a lot of goal-mouth action. Manchester City haven’t fired on all cylinders this season but should still brush West Brom aside.
De Bruyne’s penalty duties elevate his chances of finding the back of the net, especially given West Brom’s disciplinary issues this season. His prowess from outside the box is another factor against a side likely to sit deep and invite pressure.
