Tottenham took on Chelsea in the second leg tonight but it had to go down to penalties after the match finished 2-1 to the Blues, but was 2-2 on aggregate.
N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard had put Chelsea in control after 38 minutes, however Spurs’ Fernando Llorente managed to grab a goal back not long into the second half.
With many chances missed and entertaining end to end football, no more goals were scored and it went down to the lottery of a penalty shootout.
First up was Eriksen who slotted it into the bottom left to make it 1-0.
Chelsea’s first was taken and scored by Willian who also hit it to the left.
Lamela went right and just about managed to make it 2-1 to Spurs.
Azpilicueta passionately hit his into the back on the net, to the right sending the keeper the wrong way.
Dier stepped up to boos and smashed his high and over the bar. It remained 2-2.
Jorginho scored the softest penalty, leaving the keeper stuck.
Moura next and he had his shot saved brilliantly by Arrizabalaga.
Long run up by David Luiz and he buried his into the back of the net to seal a place into the Final at Wembley. Chelsea 4-2 Tottenham.
Fans of both teams gave their reaction following Chelsea’s win over Spurs on penalties, some amusingly, others not so – take a look at what they had to say on the next page.
