Macclesfield please fans with the signing of former League Two and National League striker Danny Rowe ahead of their cup clash.
Rowe, who really shone at AFC Fylde, scoring 189 goals in 290 appearances in his first spell with them between 2014 and 2020, and now dropped down to the 7th tier.
He links up with the Silkmen, who currently sit 7th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, with 17 points from 10 games, winning 5, drawing 2 and losing 3, and are two places below the playoffs.
Macclesfield FC are pleased to have agreed terms with former Chesterfield, AFC Fylde and Bradford City striker Danny Rowe.
Danny will be available for tomorrow’s FA Cup game away at Alfreton subject to clearance.

A club statement on Friday read: “Macclesfield FC are pleased to have agreed terms with former Chesterfield, AFC Fylde and Bradford City striker Danny Rowe.
“Danny will be available for tomorrow’s FA Cup game away at Alfreton subject to clearance. Welcome to The Silkmen Danny πͺ”
Rowe played youth football for the likes of Preston North End and Manchester United, before going on to make appearances for the likes of Blackpool Wren Rovers, Kendal Town, Fleetwood Town, Droylsden, Stockport County, Barrow, Lincoln City, AFC Fylde (where he is the all-time leading goalscorer), Oldham Athletic, Bradford City, Chesterfield and York City.
It was at AFC Fylde that he caught everyone’s attention with his third season at the club seeing him score 50 goals in all competitions as Fylde won promotion to the National League, and his efforts secured Rowe the league’s Player of the Year award, as well as the club’s Player of the Season, Goal of the Season, Golden Boot and Players’ Player of the Season awards.
He also won the Player of the Year award for both the 2017β18 and 2018β19 seasons and also scored the only goal of the game as Fylde defeated Leyton Orient to lift the FA Trophy.
He asked to leave Fylde in January 2020, with the club putting him on the transfer list before later said that he wished to play in the Football League but realise that would not be possible with Fylde. He departed Fylde as their all-time leading goalscorer, to which he still is.
Sadly as his career has gone on, health issues have seen his with limited appearances as he tries to get his career up and going again.

@spirepete: All the best Danny. Good luck at Macc.
@rjtaylor78: Seen him at AFC Fylde many times. Not the quickest but a foot like a traction engine. Just what we’ve been missing. Excellent signing π
@spireite65: Heβll get goals for you, some of them spectacular too!
@MTFC18: Wow now weβre talking
@daniel14f1: Fantastic. Just the signing Iβve wanted to see happen. Itβs a game changer for us. Very pleased with this. #Silkmen
@CaptainFrandad: Please look after him. His career at Chesterfield was cut short by health issues otherwise I’m confident he would still be with them.
@TomTonks:

@montehasspoken: Good Luck Danny! Did some great stuff for Chesterfield!
@UpTheSilkmen: Heβs 33, but this is exactly what we need. An experience striker who knows where the back of the net is. When this man was at Fylde he petrified me π thereβs still 30 odd games left, I want the title
@lukepeo1867: Wow
@Flapper_Kirby: Big signing for them
@gtmacc: Great signing probably what we’ve been needing all season. Feels very much like a reaction buy from the events of midweek, let’s hope it works
@Andrew_J97: YESSSSSS
Oh my WOW π€©
Macc arenβt messing about – different levels to what the rest of us can do. Fair play πππ https://t.co/JfHYb6ueAi
