Lyle Taylor angers Charlton fanbase after footage of him emerges

Lyle Taylor angers the Charlton Athletic fanbase after footage of him playing for a Sunday league club emerges on social media.

A viral video clip has been uploaded, showing him training with YouTube team ‘SEDons’, which is run by rapper Don Strapzy.

Taylor was once mentioned in a Don Strapzy song which confirms even before all this he had an affiliation with them, but to do this and then release it on the day we played is a very classless move from the former Charlton striker.

The clip show him taking free-kicks with SEDons keeper Big G (who often features on Soccer AM), but it’s gone down awfully with Addicks fans with some choosing to mock him.

Vital Charlton gave their opinion on it, stating: “I just don’t see where all these terrible moves from Taylor are going to end, it just seems to be getting even more ludicrous from him as time goes on, first the refusal to play and now this.

“It’s an example for any team who are trying to sign him that he is not as committed to the clubs as he shows on the pitch.

“Anyway let him get on with it, it’s his own reputation that he is destroying.”

Meanwhile, Charlton resumed their Championship season by picking up a big win at relegation rivals Hull City yesterday, with thanks to Jason Pearce’s goal.

The result sees Lee Bowyer’s side climb out of the bottom three, opponents Hull replacing them in the drop zone.

However as they continue to battle their way out of a relegation dogfight, they can’t turn to Taylor, who is out-of-contract at the end of the month, as he doesn’t want to risk an injury that could make a big impact on a potential big move in the summer.

Robbie Savage has recently defended Lyle Taylor’s decision not to help the club in the remaining fixtures.

Speaking to BT Sport, Savage said: “I’d do exactly the same thing in Lyle Taylor’s situation.

“He’s got a potential dream move and earn four or five times as much for his family.

“He’s been around the lower leagues and helped Charlton get into the Championship.

“They’re really struggling at the minute and he’s probably one of their best players.

“I agreed with his decision not to play in these games because the difference is, as a Premier League player, you’re going to be earning thousands of pounds every week.

“The average is £70,000 a week.

“For Lyle Taylor, he might be on £500 or £600 a week and will be going to life-changing sums of money.”

Pundit Chris Sutton admitting he’d “pin him up against the wall” if he was a teammate.

Taylor has recently been strongly linked with a move to Rangers and big-spending Turkish giants Galatasaray.
