Loud boos from Hull fans after defeat to Sheffield Wednesday with Tim Walter departing

There were loud boos from Hull City fans after the 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday with Tim Walter departing the club.

A Josh Windass penalty and goal from Michael Smith sealed all three points for the Owls, victory for Danny Rohl’s Owls over the struggling Tigers.

The remaining home fans inside the MKM Stadium made their feelings known, and Tim Walter is feeling the pressure, saying this was the toughest of his managerial career so far.

Now according to Hull Live, he will meet with the owner and board on Wednesday, with it since confirmed that Walter has departed.

He said: “For me, (the abuse from fans) it’s no problem. I can understand everything, but for the lads, it’s a problem. They can say what they like against me, it’s no problem.

“But for the lads, because they are still young and they are not really experienced, it’s even harder than for me.”

When questioned about the supporters turning on him, he added: “I can understand if you don’t win nine games in a row, then it’s normal.

“I’m angry about me myself, you know, because I want to win games, I want to win games, and I’ve never had that situation. If you look at my statistics, I won more games than I lost, and now I have lost that many games. For me, it’s a horror, really.

“All I want to ask the fans is that they help the players, they don’t have to help me, but they should help the players because that’s important. It’s important that we stay together and that we fight for each other.

“We want to give our best for the team, the fans, and the club because we are just employees from the club. We love this club because we play and work for it. All we have to do is do everything we can to work and fight for the club.”

Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl:

“I think it’s a deserved win, after 20 minutes we have to lead three or four-nil; we made a lot of chances. We did well today.

“For me it was clear we need a second goal.

“We created three, four more good opportunities that we have to score. We had 10, 11 chances we have to score today.

“Today it was enough to win this game, but in the future in some games you miss some opportunities, it might not be.”

This is the Twitter reaction following loud boos from Hull fans after defeat to Sheffield Wednesday with Tim Walter on the brink …

@DannyMac2794: You’ve got to be kidding me, he hasn’t gone yet?

@AD050714: Oh no way. He’s not going then. Relegation confirmed, thanks Acun. 👍

@TheCabbageDude: This season is all on Acun. Acun sacked Roseinor for Walter. Now we are looking like we’ll be in a relegation fight all season!

@itisalex_: Walter to save your own career just resign. Who is going to hire him in the future. Dreadful! Acun it’s not working and fans have had enough of this fiasco.

@BradleyDenton7: Acun has caused this himself, all because he was bored with rosenior’s home form.
Absolute disgrace.

@MattKL1980: Utterly utterly abject. Second best all night. Played out in the finish to an empty stadium. It’s almost becoming cruel to keep him on.

@gaz_hull: Absolute suicide sacking Rosenior. Can’t believe how far backwards we’ve gone in such little time 😢

@jonah25493223: So Acun sold Tim the dream but then recruitment wasn’t upto scratch (again) so left Tim up shit creek without a paddle so now Acun doesn’t think the right thing to do is sack Tim whilst the club drifts into a relegation dog fight. #hcafc

@Soley1904: We are coached terribly. Our press is one of the worst I’ve seen from a Hull City team. So easy to play through. Last night sealed the deal, we made a crap team look like a decent side and that’s becoming a regular occurrence this season. #hcafc

@Jonny_Thornes: Sack a manager who finished 7th but won’t sack a manager who’s won 3 games all season please do something acun don’t think I can take much longer watching this style of play witch is clearly not working but yet we stick with it 🫣🫣🫣 league 1 tour pending #hcafc

@TTVtinytoshi: Acun is making a mockery of the club and the fans! Poor recruitment and a clueless manager has put us in this pathetic position, get tim out and do something fast!

@paulharper75: If Tim does go, the next appointment has to be absolutely right. Of course, no appointment offers any guarantees of good results, etc, but we can’t have another Shota/Tim situation. #hcafc

@MattyHC5: Tim’s sacking will present a massive opportunity for the players, fans and club to have a hard reset. Everyone behind each other, get the feel good factor back at the MKM and get us moving forward with positivity! The next appointment is absolutely crucial. #hcafc

@aeroplanejacko: Just put Dawse in as interim to steady the ship and appoint a proper coach/manager that will suit this league , if it takes a month so be it. We can’t carry on like this

@StormTroop_Aim: On a human level I feel for Tim. Powers above him let him down initially not acting quicker in the market. His own downfall has, however, come from his lack of ability to adapt when needed. The system is too rigid and players don’t look confident. #hcafc

@paulharper75: Walter needs to go for the sake of everyone, but he’s been let down by Acun. The booing and chanting that he endured last night wasn’t nice for him and his family, but it was expected. For the sake of everyone, this whole sage needs to be Acun’s #1 priority. #hcafc
