We take a look at the latest list of promotions and relegations and non league playoff results by the 26th of April 2023.

Burnley, who had already been promoted were crowned the champions after beating their rivals at Ewood Park in an east Lancashire Derby.

Manuel Benson’s brilliant second-half strike for Burnley broke the deadlock, out of nothing just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute to score his 10th league goal of the season.

Blackburn tried to fight back with more chances, having five shots in the target compared to only one for Burnley.

Dom Hyam’s strike from a distance was saved, and Sammie Szmodics nearly flicked the ball inside the near post in the closing stages.

With just seconds remaining, Blackburn saw a strong penalty shout waved away when Callum Brittain’s cross appeared to hit Ashley Barnes’ arm.

The result means Rovers miss a chance to move into the playoffs. They have not won in seven of their league matches and they now sit in eighth position, outside the top six in goal difference.

Sheffield United they that they would be promoted back to the Premier League with a victory over West Brom, and they did just that.

Sander Berge finishes nicely to put the Blades ahead after Ndiaye pounced on a Baggies error 58 minutes in.

Then with 15 minutes remaining, George Baldock let rip with a first-time volley from the edge of the box as a corner was half cleared.

It looked to be going miles wide, only for Anel Ahmedhodzic stuck his foot out to divert it into the net from around six yards, meaning Paul Heckingbottom’s side finish second, seven points above third-placed Luton who have two games remaining compared to Sheffield United’s three.

Leaders Burnley have already sealed Championship title, West Brom could have moved into the playoff places with a victory, but instead remained two points outside the playoffs in 9th.
