Leyton Orient have picked their new manager as details emerge according to reports on Wednesday morning, and it’s got plenty talking.
The O’s are reportedly set to appoint Paul Tisdale as the new manager of the club to dismiss strong rumours of Kenny Jackett coming in to fill the vacancy.
The 48-year-old, who spent the final few weeks of the season at Colchester United in an advisory role, is set to be given a two-year contract at Brisbane Road.

The ex-MK Dons, Exeter and Bristol Rovers boss, who has taken charge of more than 700 games as a manager, had also been linked with the job at Swindon Town.
Tisdale spent almost 12 years in charge at the Grecians, leading them to two promotions, and he also guided MK Dons back to League One in 2019.
His spell at the latter ended disappointingly, as did his brief time at Bristol Rovers last season, however he did go on to make an impact at Colchester United, with fans wishing he was able to stay at the club beyond this season.
Paul Tisdale was installed as joint favourite to take over at Swindon Town, but now looks set on Leyton Orient instead, and who can blame him quite frankly.
According to BetVictor, he had been linked to take over at the Robins, along with ex-Liverpool star Robbie Fowler.
Meanwhile new permanent Colchester United head coach Hayden Mullins has revealed he intends to stay in contact with Paul Tisdale after the pair guided the club to League Two safety.
Mullins said: “I spoke to Tis on the phone – I said this probably won’t be the last phone call I make to you!
“He’s got so much knowledge and experience and he was brilliant.
“It was good to work with him and we’ll stay in contact.”
Mullins is already planning for the 2021-22 campaign, with pre-season training set to start at Florence Park on July the 1st.
“We’ll sit down with the players on the first day of pre-season and have a chat with them then,” said the new U’s boss.
“I’m a young coach – and a hungry coach – and I want to improve and get better.
“This club wants to develop players and coaches and it’s a perfect environment.
“I’m hungry; I want to do well and I want to try and progress and hopefully if I’m doing well, then the club is doing well.
“We want to be front footed as a side.
“We spoke about the momentum that we had towards the end of the season and we want to try and bring that again next season.
“That’s what I’ll be aiming to do.”

@Joshhenry99: Ffs, what a disappointment 😡 #lofc
@bigadzLOFC: shame that if Tisdale is appointed there will be a lot of disappointment. Not because they didn’t want Tisdale in the beginning because most would be happy with it. But because Jackett is such a high profile name the excitement of that will always lead to disappointment #lofc
@DaveTappenden: Please dont bottle this and go for tisdale! Jackett is a big statement of intent @leytonorientfc
@DanAuton2590: Forget Jackett, would’ve been nice but whatever, very happy with Tisdale, knows the league inside out and has an excellent knowledge of L2 players and how we should play to be successful at the level, will back him all the way, if it is him. #lofc
@BillyCarrollGB: How can anyone be gutted with Tisdale??
@PeterFullman2: We seem to have a thing for bald managers. #lofc
@LesLk52: Totally agree KJ would’ve been a huge sign of intent and ambition from the club , Tisdale is a decent appointment, but be honest we’re comparing Waitrose to Aldi !!!
@PaulRavens39: I’ve always rated Tisdale so I’d be more than happy with him. Jackett would have been a nice surprise but seemed unrealistic. Not sure what’s going on to have it take so long and for it to be a different favourite each day!
@MikeWhi60623804: Would have preferred Kenny but Tisdale does have a very good record of success in this division. Pity the board didn’t give him the job when Ross was sacked.
@Nin0_Bar0ne: Even if Paul Tisdale is the man to take us up, which I don’t think he is, he isn’t the man to keep us and push on in league 1. It will be an extremely underwhelming appointment.
@DaveTappenden: Please dont bottle this and go for tisdale! Jackett is a big statement of intent @leytonorientfc
@freddielofc: If it is Tisdale that’s still a good appointment imo. Think we’ll all be a bit disappointed it’s not Jackett but still happy with Tisdale he would’ve been my second choice behind Jackett out of the managers that are available
@DirkTurk: Tisdale is just what we need. Promotion out the national league. Promotion out league two. Several play off campaigns, automatic promotion with MK Dons. Great CV. Well done the board, finally got it right
@paulwells11: Would have loved Jackett but let’s face it his wages would have made him a massive punt. No Manager guarantees success. Tisdale has a decent enough track record with back to back promotions with Exeter. #lofc
@Orient_Ed: Shame it wont be Jackett but not a surprise. I’m still VERY pleased with Tisdale, make no mistake! A good appointment here.
@DavidBarratt6: Tisdale has much more experience in L1 and L2. That has to be the deciding factor.
