Leyton Orient fans cheekily took to mock Wrexham as the O’s come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 to boost their promotion hopes.
The away side fought back to dent that of hosts Wrexham in League One, with there now a five-point gap between Wrexham, in 3rd, and 2nd place Wycombe Wanderers.
Ollie Rathbone put the Welsh outfit ahead before Charlie Kelman levelled after Darren Pratley’s assist and then Jamie Donley, who was named EFL Young Player of January, made no mistake as he latched on to a corner.
Orient ended the game with 10 men after Pratley was shown a second yellow card. However the visitors held on as they stayed 6th and now sit two points behind 5th place Huddersfield Town.
Wrexham are on 58 points from 31 games played, while Orient are on 53 points from 31 games played.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said after the game, per BBC Sport:
“We got the goal, we’ve had other chances to score again, the ball just wouldn’t drop for us in and around the box.
“And then the goal conceded we’re disappointed with because we’ve given Kelman time in the box when we know he’s a fox in the box, and it’s got them back in the game.
“So I thought first half, generally, we were decent, some kind of unforced errors, which we needed to eradicate.
“And then second half, I felt we never played with the composure we needed to play with to win the game. The goal obviously gave them a lift and we were too hurried in possession, we didn’t get any control or play like we normally do.
“We never really got to grips with them second half, credit to them.”
Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens:
“What we showed is quality, it was two great finishes and then the desire from several people at the end to put their bodies on the line and block shots.
“Football is about being tactically OK, having talent, speed, technique and all of that.
“But sometimes you need heart, desire and grit and the last 10 minutes, we were really good at that.
“They went for it and chucked everything at us and credit to them for that, but when they do it, you have to stand up.”

Best win of the season. Played like lions against a team who never lose at home and who had a biased ref on their side, there’s no other way to describe it. This is a statement that we are firmly in the promotion hunt with all the momentum. What a team what a club #lofc pic.twitter.com/NbdgAvnkDt

The only noise you could hear on the tv
All I heard from Wrexham was booing
And a chant about England losing a final
When the Welsh could only dream about a euro final. Sorry TJ & CoopsLove the new Jamie Donley chant!
ROLL ON SATURDAY! YOU O’s !!!! https://t.co/JkM5RWqyY1
