Leicester fans make feelings known with chants about Fofana and Chilwell at Chelsea

Angry Leicester fans make their feelings known with taunting chants about Wesley Fofana and Ben Chilwell at Chelsea on Saturday.

The wantaway defender couldn’t help but take aim following weeks of talks between the two Premier League clubs, a £70million fee plus add-ons was finally agreed on Friday.

Just like in the 2-1 defeat against Southampton last week, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers omitted the youngster out of his matchday squad, but Fofana on social media made it clear he didn’t want to be at Leicester.

He was seen not celebrating Leicester going in front in the home game against Southampton, as can be seen below…

Fofana recently took to social media to highlight that an Instagram story under his name claiming all that he wants to do is leave is ‘fake’.

The Instagram story Fofana has dispelled as ‘fake’ read: “All I wanna do is leave Leicester and join Chelsea,” followed by three crying emojis. On his official account on the platform, the player reposted the image above the phrase “is fake” and a red cross emoji.

Fofana expanded further on Twitter in a post translated from the defender’s native tongue. “Ah now it invents Instagram stories with my name,” the tweet reads and is signed off by a trio of crying laughing emojis and another three face palm emojis.

Now that he knows a move is in the works, Fofana video recorded himself whilst driving, looking pleased…

It didn’t take long in West London for the travelling Leicester fans to take aim at the ex-Saint-Etienne player, signing: “Wes Fofana, you’re a w***er, you’re a w***er.”

He is now set to pen a six-year deal until 2028 at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea had been ready to walk away after a third offer, totalling £70m, was rejected by Leicester on Tuesday.

But after going back in with a fourth offer with improved terms, Leicester buckled.

Heavy booes could also be heard on former Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and the Chelsea substitutes when they warmed up near the away supporters.

This was followed by a chorus of: “He sits on the bench, he sits on the bench, Ben Chilwell, he sits on the bench.”

The 21-year-old is one of the most highly-regarded young centre-backs in European football, and joined Leicester from Ligue 1 side St. Etienne in 2020 for £36.5m, and this summer had his contract extended until 2027.

Rodgers has said: ‘It’s the same with any player. For me if they decide they want to move and see their future elsewhere it is better to have it done as quickly as you possibly can.

‘You have to prepare a team and a group of players and you have to maybe replace that player. Every coach will tell you the same.

‘It doesn’t benefit anyone if it drags on. So we will see what happens over the weekend.’

Twitter users gave their reaction as Leicester fans make their feelings known with chants about Fofana and Chilwell at Chelsea…

@SimplySimon808: How petty! I love it! 👍😂

@dennizo05: Leicester fans calling Fofana a wanker today 😂 They have some terrible songs bless them, Chillwell took it well 😂 Up the Chels 💙

@CFCRaf2: Leicester fans deserve this humbling. Unbelievable how some of them are acting about Fofana leaving by mocking his previously broken leg. Hold that

@IAmChrisCrane: These Leicester fans going about about Fofana and ‘the way he’s acted’. Lad just got offered ridiculous pay increase, champions league, chance to play with a better coach and LC get a record fee. I don’t see why people are so mad, let him go. #LCFC

@KUPTHECHELS: Think they need to get over it. He wants to play for a big club 👍🏼

@VillainNLMB: Leicester fans already singing fuck fofana 🤣🤣🤣

@neveigoe: don’t understand the hate chanting for fofana and chilwell from leicester fans? why hate on your own if they’ve done nothing wrong? this is why i love the praise we give tammy and timo etc. – at least with lukaku there’s reasons behind why we don’t like him.

@BeIlinghamm: took their best ever LB and took their best ever centre back and their best ever midfielder id cry as well 👍🏾

@alfsmth: Maybe they should be worried about their points tally than a player returning from injury who’d be the best in their team

@SWightwick: I walked past loads of Leicester fans singing “we’ll all be having a party, when Wes Fofana dies” as well 😂😂
