Leeds United‘s new away kit for the 2020/21 season has been ‘leaked’ by the ever reliable FootyHeadlines on Friday morning.
It comes just over a week until the Championship league leaders are able to play out their remaining fixtures and secure a long-awaited top flight return for the first time since 2004.
They have a seven point lead over third place Fulham whist second place West Brom have six over the Cottagers with just nine games left.
The leaked away kit will be produced by Adidas following the club’s switch from Kappa.
It has been described to be a clean look, which features stripes in two shades of blue, combined with gold for the Adidas stripes and a tape on the inner neck.
The Adidas logo on the right chest of the shirt and colour matches the club crest on the opposite side.
FootyHeadlines add that the stripes also continue onto the sleeves as well as the back with a small Yorkshire rose just below the collar, an additional feature that always goes down well with supporters.
There have been rumours that Leeds were getting a new crest. Nothing more however has been revealed on it, although owner Andrea Radrizzani has taken a liking to one fan’s design.
It is more than two years since the Leeds board put forward plans to change the badge ahead of this season’s centenary year – before those plans were ridiculed, and eventually scrapped.
Radrizzani wanted a more modern-looking badge but outrage caused Leeds to drop their new idea. Now, just over two years since the drama of the potential new crest, Radrizzani has responded to a Leeds fan over a new badge design.
Upon scrapping plans in January 2018, Radrizzani stated that Leeds would reconsider plans to put forward a new badge.
A supporter sent a picture of a badge he had designed, which includes the white Leeds rose in gold – rather than the blue and yellow colours of the current crest. Radrizzani responded, stated his love for the fan’s concept idea, something many supporter within the Leeds fanbase have put forward in recent years.
George, I love it ?????

Could this be a “mock up” design or one of series of simple design options that’s leaked and the final version will be more carefully crafted and detailed? Given we’re meant to be tier 1 Adidas? I’d also like to think this would be a third kit or maybe a training wear really.

thoughts? I really like how the yellow stands out on that colour scheme.

Colours feel a little dull to me (hopefully just the photo) and not sure about the collar. Don’t hate it – but don’t love it either.

First Gavin and Stacey and now that atrocious Leeds away kit. Pissing it down outside too, what a horrible Friday today is.

I don’t support Leeds, but I rather like the look of that. Reminds me of the away strip from the 2008/09 season. Interesting to see how many have turned their noses up at the leaked version.

If this is the Leeds away kit – I hate it. The new collar style is not my cup of tea at all. #LeedsUnited #Leeds #alaw https://t.co/OhZpU98U4b
