Leeds fans taunt Danny Dyer as he leaves London Stadium after West Ham lose in penalty shootout

Leeds fans taunt Danny Dyer as he leaves the London Stadium after West Ham lose 4-2 in an FA Cup quarter final penalty shootout.

Kathryn Batte, Women’s Football Reporter for The Telegraph, saw the clip and tweeted: “I mean it’s all fun and games but the guy shouting misogynistic abuse at Dani is unnecessary 🤷‍♀️”

But the woman in the vehicle with Danny isn’t his daughter Dani, of whom many fans in the comments section and replies also thought it was, but instead supposedly his wife.

The Hammers’ FA Cup run came to an end, and diehard fan Danny Dyer got many talking on social media and in the ground from singing ‘Bowen’s on fire, and he’s shagging Dani Dyer’, to then TNT Sports capturing his rollercoaster of emotions.

Leeds reach first FA Cup semi-final since 1987, winning on penalties after West Ham came back from two goals down and also had two goals disallowed.

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen speaking to TNT Sports: “Gutted. It hurts a lot after being 2-0 down. I missed and I can only apologise to everyone involved for that. You never want to miss penalties but I have today and I have to face that. It doesn’t define who I am but I have to stand tall from that. We did a lot of good things in the game but it wasn’t to be.

On the performance: “In the first half, we had a few good opportunities, the keeper made a great save from Taty [Castellanos] and from me. Our shape probably wasn’t good enough and we tweaked a few things. At 2-0 down you have to go for it. We thought we would go on and win the game but it wasn’t meant to be.”

“It has to hurt. We are hurt as a team. We have to dust ourselves down and get back into training tomorrow for the Wolves game on Friday because we know what we have to do.”

“I’m gutted.  feel like I’ve let people down. It really hurts because I thought we’d done so much to get back in the game, and I knew how special it would be to get to the semi-finals and give these fans a day out at Wembley.

“Fin has a brilliant moment saving the first penalty, and obviously when you’re up next you’re confident of scoring. You never want to miss in a penalty shootout, especially to go out of the FA Cup, but sometimes you have these low moments and that’s how it is.

“We’ve got a really good group that never gives up, and that’s what you need to play for this Club. It’s one of my biggest mottos, to never throw in the towel, because you never know what might happen in football.

“I hit the post and it fell to Matty, and then you look at the clock and there’s another seven or eight minutes to go. I knew there was another goal in it, and that moment came with Axel. We had a couple of goals disallowed and we felt like we were in the driving seat, but ultimately it wasn’t meant to be.

“I thought Adama [Traoré] was brilliant from start to finish today, and then it’s a big moment for Fin as well, who I told to make himself a hero before he came on. I told him he loved the Club, and he deserved his moment.

“He’s got a really good penalty record, and he had that moment of saving one in the shootout. It’s a special day for him and I’m really happy for him.

“It hurts tonight, but when it comes to tomorrow we have to go back in, recover, and then look forward to Wolves on Friday night because that’s going to be a massive game.

“We have to put in a performance like we did in the second half and in extra-time today, and we’re going to need everyone. We know the atmosphere the fans created today, and we know everyone’s going in the right direction, so we’ll be ready to go again.”

Leeds fans taunt Danny Dyer as he leaves the London Stadium after West Ham lose in the penalty shootout…

@stevenccrosby: Tbf Danny seems a good sport and would pass the pint test. MOT

@mikekelly26: Took that well to be fair. Imagine what someone like Keane or Carragher would have done

@matty_lufc1: Proper Leeds that

@AllLeedsTV: Has anyone seen Danny Dyer by any chance? Wembley!!!!!

@AdamHickin: I think (hope) that guy was saying it to Danny. It’s very much something that a Danny Dyer character would stereotypically call someone.

@MattCarrick5: Its one of Dyers most common phrases 🤣🤣

@misfituser38: I hope the kids weren’t in the car, but they probably were. Disgusting behaviour, especially if the kids were in the car.

@UtdTickets: Classy as always

@jackaeball: Disgusting this

Debbie Thomas: Down to earth and loves his team, can take stick so fair play to him.

Chris Dixon: Always someone who spoils it . Grabbing his arm isnt acceptable and calling her a slag is bang out of order . People saying they took it well …. they had no choice . Through those smiles they were probably quite scared . A bit of good hearted banter taken too far .

Simon Lapworth: No need to call her a slag Jesus he took the banter well no need for the slag comments

@LukeGrayComedy: I thought the same, then realised it’s making fun of his “catchphrase”, so as long as it’s directed to male Danny dyer and not female Dani dyer then it’s fine.

Lee Cocker: They aren’t calling his bird a slag, it’s something Danny Dyer says and they’re mocking it ffs 🤦‍♂️

Craig J Simcox: With his family ffs absolutely no need. Would any of them done that if they were stood with him on their own

Lee Naylor: No need to start the slag chants spoilt it for me was funny before that and he took it well ..

Ricky Layzell:
Nice bit of banter
Apart from abuse towards the lady
I have been a Leeds supporter since 1970
Sorry that’s out of order
Come on we don’t need that
Sort of stuff

Chris Pilmoor: Took it well old Danny boy , no need for the slag comment, always one .

Des Gregs: Fair play took it in gest funny when they fucked off and came back and still lost poor Jarrod be on a ban after the pen miss haha Leeds was always comin to get u mot alaw
