Leeds’ comeback win left ‘marred’ as fans throw missiles at Millwall scorer Jed Wallace

Leeds’ comeback win left ‘marred’ as fans throw missiles at Millwall scorer Jed Wallace whilst he celebrating scoring in front of them.

Because of the fans’ actions, it’s reported that the West Yorkshire side could face an FA probe after players had coins chucked in their direction.

Wallace’s Millwall teammate Alex Pearce could be seen telling referee Darren England about what happened before handing a coin to the official.

It came after Leeds‘ opponents had stunned many by going 2-0 up at Elland Road after 23 minutes on the clock, which remained the scoreline as the players went in for half time.

Fair to say the owner Andrea Radrizzani wasn’t happy with the referee’s performance and decisions, taking to Twitter to voice his frustration…

We would love to have known what was said by Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa during the break, as his side came out roaring in the second half.

It took Patrick Bamford, who had gone five games without a goal, just three minutes after coming back out of the tunnel to pull one back.

Then in the 62nd minute, Leeds piled forward and a deflected Pablo Hernandez strike saw them level, then that was followed up by Luke Ayling crossing in to Bamford who powered home a diving header to get his club’s first victory in 2020.

The result meant that they returned back to top of the Championship table — leapfrogging West Brom, who ended up losing 2-1 at Cardiff.

Fans gave their reaction after seeing that Leeds’ comeback win was left ‘marred’ as fans throw missiles at Millwall scorer Jed Wallace…
