A League Two keeper has posted a photo on social media after receiving a boot the face and has asked for help to pay for new teeth.
Forest Green’s James Montgomery was playing in a match against Mansfield Town last night when he ended up picking up a gruesome injury,
58 minutes into the game, the former Middlesbrough and Gateshead goalie saved substitute Gethin Jones’s effort before being forced off the pitch with the doctor holding something to his face.
Forest Green said after the game: “Montgomery94 has gone to hospital after today’s game as he suffered a nasty split lip and lost teeth in his collision with Gethin Jones. Everyone at FGR wish him a speedy recovery.”

Montgomery, who remained in good spirit, wrote: “On way to hospital, setting up a just giving page if anyone wants to help me pay for my new teeth.. good point and well done to the lads on coming back from behind! You should see the other lad!!”

As mentioned in his tweet, Forest Green managed to pick up a draw in an entertaining encounter with high flying Mansfield.
The Stags went 1-0 up thanks to Nottingham Forest loanee Jorge Grant after just 14 minutes.
Mansfield nearly got a second when Tyler Walker hit the the crossbar.
The hosts got themselves an equaliser as Liam Shepherd’s cross found Reuben Reid on the edge of the box who then nodded past the Stags keeper.
Forest Green remain in fourth, just two places from the automatic promotion spot. Mansfield also remainw here they are in second but four points away from Lincoln in first who have a goal in hand.
