Laura Woods left surprised at receiving warning on Instagram for comment she wrote

Laura Woods has been left surprised at receiving a warning on Instagram for a comment she wrote recently that was barely offence.

The 36 year old was warned after breaching protocol on the social media site after taking to respond back to one of her followers.

Laura Woods played a part in Declan Rice’s Arsenal announcement video, which also featured a number of other well known faces.

Woods uploaded the short film via her Instagram page with it captioned: “He’s here and he’s perfect.”

But it seems some of the rival fans took it badly, suggesting Arsenal overpaid for him, suggesting the Gunners tried to get Rice on the cheap, before paying out £105million.

The user said: “Embarrassing messing about by a pathetic club who know they’ve deliberately unsettled a player and now want him on the cheap because they know he’s another [Harry] Maguire, barely worth half what they have agreed to pay.”

Woods hit back but included a jibe in her comment that breached Instagram guidelines.

She wrote: @stephenoneill1967 none of this makes any sense, want him on the cheap? Just paid over £100 for him you sausage.

The comment was taken down by Instagram, claiming it broke hate speech guidelines.

Instagram deleted her reply. “Your comment goes against out Community Guidelines on hate speech or symbols,” read Instagram’s warning.

“Our guidelines encourage people to express themselves in a way that’s respectful to everyone. If you think we made a mistake, you can ask us to review our decision.”

Woods subsequently took to her Instagram story, writing in shock: “Is sausage classed as hate speech these days? 😂”

Woods was shocked that her comment broke hate speech guidelines

Even with Instagram having to take action against her, I don’t think it her ‘language’ will scuppered plans to present on TNT or the World Cup.

Woods is currently preparing to lead ITV’s coverage of the upcoming Women’s World Cup.

Woods presents the showpiece with Seema Jaswal and Michelle Owen, while offering expert insight, opinion and analysis is Eni Aluko, Karen Carney, Jill Scott, Emma Hayes, Fran Kirby, Lucy Ward, Siobhan Chamberlain, Emma Byrne, Vicky Losada and Jen Beattie.

Commentary comes from Seb Hutchinson, Sam Matterface, Pien Meulensteen and Tom Gayle, while reporting on the tournament will be Katie Shanahan.

Ex-England players Steph Houghton, Ellen White, Alex Scott, Anita Asante, Rachel Brown-Finnis and Fara Williams will feature on the BBC’s World Cup coverage

She recently opened up on rumours she is set to replace Jake Humphrey as TNT Sports’ main presenter.

Woods spoke about potentially taking over from Jake Humphrey as TNT Sports: “I know, I’ve seen a lot of articles, but I haven’t signed anything.

“There are a couple of offers, but I’ve got a glorious month off now where I can sit down and start planning the next things.

“I don’t want to rush into anything, I’ve never been able to have that privilege in my life before. Never.

“I have always been 100 miles per hour in my career. I used to have this work ethic of taking absolutely everything, because I knew that it would teach me something.

“I didn’t care what it was, I would do it, and it was brilliant. It definitely got me where I am now.

“But now, I have earned the right to take a step back and think: ‘What is right for me next?'”

Also emerging in the news is Jeff Stelling, reportedly set to take over Laura Woods as host of talkSPORT’s breakfast show.

He previously hinted he wouldn’t disappear for too long, since stepping down as Sky Sports Soccer Saturday host at the end of last season following 25 years in the role.

MailOnline report that he is close to agreeing a deal with Alan Brazil expected to stay on to continue presenting on Thursdays and Fridays.

Jeff would come in and do Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

It had been said that he was in talks with Amazon and the BBC over a return to broadcasting.

He has no plans to retire, though was placed on gardening leave until December.

Stelling also made a one-off Countdown comeback in June as a dictionary corner special guest.
