A young Lancaster City player was left embarrassed after he fell for a hilarious steak prank by one of his teammates recently.
18 year old Tom Preston picked up an injury on Friday but with a game coming up the following day, the youngster took to get some advice from what he thought was physio Neil Coomber, however it turned out to be the wrong number and in fact midfielder Rob Wilson.
Wilson asked the player whether he could put weight on it, before then going on to suggest that by putting a sirloin steak on the area of the injury for 10 minutes would help reduce the swelling and bruising…
After Preston revealed he couldn’t find a steak but instead just frozen peas, so he put that on instead…
Wilson wasn’t going to let his planned prank go to bust, so he suggested that injured player to go to the nearest shop to buy one and that the club would reimburse him for it…
Prankster Rob Wilson asked whether Tom Preston did what he was told and then received a photo of the steak on the injury…
The penny finally dropped for young Tom when Rob Wilson started talking about the colour of the steak and that by putting salt and pepper on it would help with the recovery process…
Another teammate, Craig Stanley, put the whole exchange on Twitter and has since been liked over 13,000 times and received nearly 4,200 retweets.
Supporters, other non league footballers and a manager saw the hilarious prank and took to give their take on it – check out those tweets and who features on the next page.
