Kevin Ellison stuns fans by signing for 7th tier club with another former EFL player

Kevin Ellison stuns fans by signing for 7th tier club Warrington Rylands along with another former EFL player in Jordan Mustoe.

Ellison, 43, has enjoyed an illustrious career across the Football League, with over 800 career appearances to date.

He spent majority of his time in the professional game with Morecambe between 2011-22, scoring 81 times in 352 matches.

More recently though, the Liverpool-born winger has been with Newport County, where he bagged three goals in 33 appearances, and even looked to coaching with them.

He made just Premier League appearance for Leicester City in 2001, coming on as a late substitute against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Mustoe comes in at Gorsey Lane after enjoying spells playing in Romania, Sweden and Belgium.

The full-back, 31, also amassed 61 EFL appearances for Wigan Athletic, having come through the ranks at the Latics.

David McNabb’s newly-promoted side begin their 2022/23 campaign at home to Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.

Rylands play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division (Level 7). Last season they won the Northern Premier League Division One West title.
