Junior football team Victoria Colts Vipers under 10s have been left devastated after losing vital equipment to an arson attack this week.
On Saturday morning, they made the sad announcement at losing valuable stuff which had been collected from across the last few years.
This included all the items that children would have used for training and matches on weekends, so now the club are appealing for help to replace everything they’ve lost.
Devastated to wake up to the news that our storage container has been set on fire last night in the park 👎 the kids literally have nothing now 😩 pic.twitter.com/LR4mzSBRWD

They said via a recently set-up GoFundMe page: “Hi, as a lot of local people have seen, the containers containing all the colts equipment has been subject to an arson attack.
“The club has been using this since 1994 and thousands of kids over the years has been and used this equipment. The goals, nets, balls, flags, ropes, boots, cost of repairing/replacing the containers, the list continues.
“Without this equipment, it is going to be difficult for the hundreds of kids at the club to be able to host games or even train. These kids range from tiny tots through to teenagers and young adults.
“Everyone, everywhere has had some part in youth football but not everyone understands the cost. What these arsonists have done could potentially ruined a large and longstanding local club.
“We ask if you can spare whatever you can afford to help get the vital equipment needed to keep these kids playing football.
“Thanks to all”
With the junior football team devastated after losing their equipment to an arson attack, a flood of donations have come through everything from towards their £6,000 target (£1,500 raised so far), to people giving them all the gear they need to be able to continue…
