Jamie Vardy winds up Tottenham who go winless in their last 7 league games after a 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Sunday afternoon.
Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss scored after Richarlison’s opener, with Spurs fans again expressing their anger come the final whistle.
Loud boos at full time with many wonder what this result will mean for Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou, with the manager giving the Tottenham crowd what has been described to be a resigned wave.
Meanwhile for Leicester, they are out of the bottom three. Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy went straight over to his keeper Jakub Stolarczyk and gave him a hug. The Foxes end their seven-game losing run in the Premier League.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou talking to BBC Match of the Day: “It is a disappointing result, but at the same time I can’t ask anymore from this group of players. They are trying their hardest and things just aren’t falling for us. We certainly had opportunities to kill the game off and we didn’t take them. It wasn’t for the want of trying, the players gave everything but we fell short.
“I thought first half we were good and probably could have had a couple more goals and for the most part they didn’t threaten us. We conceded a couple of goals but after that we had the majority of the play but just weren’t able to get the goals we needed.
“There is the football element but the psychological element. This group of players have given everything to turn our fortunes around and that is all you can ask for.
“The reality is that two or three players weren’t at 100% to play today and that is the reality that we’re in. The supporters and club should, and I think they do, acknowledge that you can’t ask anymore of this group of players. They are giving everything they can and it is not for a want of trying.”
On their poor run at home: “It all folds in. The supporters are feeling it as well. It is not an atmosphere where it is easy at the moment. We need to break through that and try and give them something to get behind the team for. It wasn’t that long ago we beat Liverpool here and it was a great night here.”
On James Maddison’s absence: “He is just sore after the other night. He wasn’t right to play. We really had no choice.”
On supporters changing about Daniel Levy: “I’m focused on the game. We’ve got to get through his and through it as united as possible.”
On whether Spurs are close to any additions in the transfer window: “Not that I’m aware of but the club are working hard to remedy that.”
“You know, at the same time I do have to acknowledge this group of players have gave everything.
“We control the game for the most part, we created enough chances to win the game.
“We gave ourselves a mountain to climb and we did have chances to get back into it, but we couldn’t do it.”
On Tottenham’s downfall: “Hard to say, you know straight after the game trying to analyse it.
“It’s a combination of mental fatigue that some of the players are feeling at the moment, but after that we created enough chances to overcome the deficit.
“Ultimately it is about staying strong – we are going to get significant players back in the next two weeks – that’s all this group needs – they just need some help.
“Once they get their help I’m sure their fortunes will change.
“The guys coming back will not be low on confidence and they will drive the group.
“The guys are trying as hard as they can at the moment – they gave everything again today.
“Some of them probably shouldn’t be out there, but that’s all you can ask for.
“Once we get a couple of players back it will help them enormously.
“Everyone needs to acknowledge, the club, supporters, myself that the players are giving everything they can.
“The reality of football the judging is constant and it is now.
“Where we are in the league is nowhere near good enough. That’s a reflection on me and my coaching, but as I keep saying I am positive about the future for this group of players.”
A Tottenham fan shouted “We’re going down with YOU” towards Ange.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou talking to PLP: “Yeah, it hurts. It hurts a lot. The players gave everything again. We are going to look at a lot of things, but in terms of effort I can’t ask anymore of this group, things just didn’t go our way today. We created some good opportunities and unfortunately things just didn’t drop for us because not because the players weren’t trying and that’s the main thing.
“The players are giving everything they can. That is all we can ask for as a football club and me as a manager. They are trying their hardest and that is all anyone can ask for.
“You can analyse the goals, they were disappointing goals for us to concede, but I thought we had enough chances in the game to come out on top.
“When you’re in this situation, they are trying as hard as they can and sometimes that doesn’t give you he clarity in decision making. You can ask is for people to do as much as they can and from my perspective I see a group of players that are giving as much as they can. I know it will turn. We’ll get some players back, we were short again today but in the next couple of weeks there’s some really important players coming back that I know will help this group.
“We’ve not hit a ceiling. We’ve been going like this for two months. They put in an enormous performance on Thursday to make sure we’re OK in Europe and they had to back it up today but there were probably at least two or three players that weren’t at 100%.
“I’m a football manager and I get judged on results, that is the way of the world.”

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy: “It is big, hopefully it stops the rot we have been in.
“We have been playing some decent football for probably half a game and it has let us down a bit. The lads there battled through for 90 minutes and it is credit too to the manager what he’s been doing on the training pitch.
“At times you want to be the team playing the nice football but at times during a game it is not on. We have all stuck together as a team. We knuckled down, stayed together and got the big win.
“As a striker you just want to score in every game and that is what I am trying to do.”
Can you get away from trouble? “100% back every single one of them. We all know what is at stake. We want to play nice football but that was three points in the right direction and hopefully the start of a run.”
Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, speaking to PLP: “The performance was excellent, the shape and the way the players were defending together.
“On the ball we tried to play like we always try. We went behind but the way the team reacted to going 1-0 down, they took the ball and started to play. At half time they were calm and the way they came out of the dressing room was tremendous. I think that won us the game in the end.
“The last 10 minutes we switched to 5-3-2, we had to because Tottenham were going with everyone forward. We managed to survive.
“The effort, the dedication, the blocks and the clearances, the tactics we made it was a joy to watch. It got us a massive three points away from home.
“The players also feel we are improving. They feel the way we want to play suits them. We will keep pushing to do these things. The players are buying into it. I can only be very proud of this team.”
On Jamie Vardy: “He is a leader by example. He is still producing. The respect from the team and the staff at this club for him is huge. He is also delivering.”
“It hurts. It hurts a lot.”

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min talking to PLP: “Breaking down or scoring goals is always hard but when it is the day it doesn’t happen it is always more frustrating. We were frustrated and made the wrong decisions. It is painful.
“I can’t stand here and talk about other games, I’ve done that a lot and the injuries, some situations haven’t been understood by people how I wanted. I’ve played more games than I expected, but that is our job. Mentally we just have to refresh and get ready and go again. I know it can be tough. When you get wins you can get better feelings, but it is harder after today. It is very tough at the moment.
“It is painful. It’s happened a few times already this season. It feels like scoring games is so hard but conceding goals is way too easy. I haven’t seen them back yet but it is a lack of concentration, definitely, and a bit of sloppiness. We knew they were going to come. We’re going to have to sit down and talk about what went wrong.”
On whether Spurs could end up in a relegation battle: “It is definitely not good enough. We’ve had way too many losses, but there are still a lot of games remaining and we’ll have a lot of players back. We’re not talking about anything, we just play each game and try and get three points.”

@TalkTHFC__: #AngeOut #LevyOut
@SixFootTwo: Be patient with Ange, he just needs more time, couple more seasons at least!
@leedownes1979: I think it’s over for Ange now. I really wanted it to work for him but he’s just been let down so badly by the board that he literally has no moves left to make. No players in speaks volumes about how Levy feels about us as a football club – we’re purely a venue for him.
@LadyJakes2: The board are an embarrassment for not providing support to the team when they most need it. Levy is a brilliant financial manager but there it ends. Total disgrace board allowing the team and fans to suffer like this, no quality recruits. Other clubs buying. Same story. 😔
@7ord4n_: Fans have enabled this for years on end. They reap what they sow. Belittled anyone who wanted ownership gone, everything else Levy has been spot on but the football side he’s been the worst for many years. Fans should want owners gone before another manager comes in🤷🏻♂️ #THFC
@badamsufl: I’m still Ange In, I think we have a much better shot to turn it around with him over Mason with Romero/VDV hopefully back in next week or 2. Regardless of what happens we know one thing. Ange will win next place he goes and we will be looking for a new manager in 18 months #COYS
@JamieStirling7: I truly believe Ange is a good manager who will be successful elsewhere. I don’t believe the majority of the blame lies with him, it’s with Levy and ENIC. Despite that it’s hard to deny he is out of his depth while trying to work under this ownership. He has to go now #COYS
@matt_bamber: We all know #Levy is the main and most important problem @SpursOfficial However Ange is just isn’t the one from a football front! Injuries or not. Surely the club sack him tonight. At the end of the day, we can’t & don’t win league football matches! #COYS #Spurs
@winkleini: Just sit and wait for the corner flag post I guess 🤷♂️ Levy doesn’t care, ENIC don’t care & I’m not sure I do anymore! What a shambles from top to bottom. And we most definitely aren’t to good to go down.. bad times 😢 #COYS
This man spoke the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.#Tottenham #Spurs #COYS #THFC pic.twitter.com/OCsJxg9UQq
