Jamie Cureton, 50, signs for the 25th club of his career as he becomes a non league journeyman and is still making an impact.
The experienced former Premier League and EFL player has joined Kings Park Rangers in the Eastern Counties League Division One North, with the aim of becoming the first player to score in every English football tier.
He told BBC Sport back in July, “I lost count when I reached 1,000”, and thought he had scored just a few short of 400 goals, adding “I’d like to finish on 400 or above.”
It was on the 17th of September 2025 when Cureton was relieved of his position at Cambridge City owing to the clubs poor start to the season, sitting 18th in the Isthmian League North Division with 4 points from a possible 21 and were out of the FA Cup after being beaten by lower level club Mulbarton Wanderers.
But he has quickly moved on from that, will use it to help him going forward as he continues to play for the love of football.

CLUB STATEMENT:
“HES HERE! Welcome to Kings Park Rangers Mr Jamie Cureton!
“A man who absolutely stinks of goals, ‘Curo’ has a wealth of experience and has scored in all of the English football tiers , just one has alluded him, step 6!
“We hope he scores more than just one for us this season but if he manages to score just one, he will be the first player ever to score a goal in every English tier from the Premier League all the way down to Step 6.
The former @NorwichCityFC man and @ColU_Official legend will certainly write his name into English football folklore if he completes that feat!
“Welcome, Curo! #UppaKings 🥳”
Jamie came on in the 65th minute for Kings Park Rangers against Diss Town on Saturday, and although he didn’t score, he did assist for one of the goals in a 4-0 win.

He said when on Location Football’s newest video: “So how does he feel to be back on the pitch? Yeah, actually really excited. It’s been sort of strange few weeks being out of management and stuff.
“I thought in my head it would be nice to put the boots back on and have a little run around. This opportunity has come up.
“It’s been a nice week actually preparing myself. Really excited about just playing again I suppose.
“I knew I’d obviously played at a lot of levels and scored a lot of levels. I didn’t realise this was sort of the last one.
“You know what I’m like. I’d love to keep playing and if I can break any records or anything.
On if there were there any reservations from the manager in signing a 50 year old striker, he replied: “No, not at all. When we see the experience and the players that he has scored goals everywhere, we were so excited. And like I say, for me, the most important thing was the transition from QPR to KPR.”
On the tactics for the potential record breaking match, the manager said: “Free kicks for Curo, penalties Curo. Long throws Curo, ball to Curo, let’s get a goal.”
