Jamie Carragher responds to receiving abuse from Everton fans before Liverpool’s late win in the Premier League on Sunday.
As the players were lining up on the pitch, Carragher, on punditry duties for Sky Sports, was seen making his way down the touchline ahead of the first Merseyside derby at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But as he did so, next to him were Everton fans, some giving him shouting insults, trying to get him attention, to which he does, briefly giving it back to them.
One fan is heard shouting: Ah f*ck off you daft c*nt, f*ck off you kn*bhead, you daft c*nt, f*ck off Carra, you dumb sh*t”
Another is heard saying: “You f*cking kn*bhead, you f*cking tw*t, f*ck off Carragher”.

Liverpool’s Arne Slot said to BBC Match of the Day: “What else would you expect when you play here? It was always going to be a real battle.
“My players did what I was hoping they’d do, what I expected they’d do and give Everton a big fight. In the end, scoring is a joy to see because our away fans were brilliant today. A good day for the red side of Liverpool.”
On experience in the side: “There were multiple factors going in but that was one of them. From the start, we were not impressed, they were better in the first 10-15 minutes but we stood our ground.
“We got better and better in the game. The moment they scored for 1-1 was the moment I expected it the least because we started the second half well. Then towards the end we kept on pushing, were close a few times, and then scoring a goal you would expect Everton to score – a set piece – is nice for us.”
On the slow start: “The start of a game is both teams go all in and fight then after 15-20 minutes the game calms down a bit and you can talk more about tactics or how you want to position yourself on the pitch.
“But the first 20 minutes is just running, facing duels, pressing on both sides – a bit of a chaos game usually in the Premier League, especially in a derby.
“When things settle down you could see more and more we could find the players we wanted to play, especially in the second half.”
On added boost of winning first derby at Hill Dickinson: “Of course. We all know it’s a special occasion, the first derby in their new stadium, you know it is one for history and to beat them for the second time this year – we haven’t had a lot of positive things happen for us this season, we’ve usually conceded late.
“To score late, you could see the reaction of our players to the fans and the fans to our players. That tells you everything about how important this game is for us.”
Slot, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “The fans have seen us play two incredible teams in PSG and Manchester City and we’ve lost them both.
“Throughout the season, all these games with the all these games and the limited players available have hurt and cost us quite a lot of points.
“But today is definitively a day for the fans to be happy. That’s what we will be.”
On enjoying this win: “We are going to enjoy. My staff, my players and me. There is no difference between us and the fans, we would have loved to have had a better season than we’ve had.
“But for obvious reasons we haven’t, and we saw that today. How many times do you have two goalkeepers injured?
“That has been our season but we managed to win and that’s the most important thing.”
On Mamardashvili injury: “It didn’t look great, it was a big wound and he went straight to the hospital. Let’s see how that works out for him but fear worst – not for a long-term injury but for next week.”
Everton manager David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports: “I thought the players played great today, they didn’t get the result they deserved. We deserved more from it than we did. They did a great job. Disappointed with the last goal but in the main the players did a brilliant job.
On the disallowed goal: “The game was quite chaotic. In that period, it looked like a good goal for me but we trust the people that they got it right. We’re not here to make any excuses, we should have got more, we didn’t.”
On Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury: “It doesn’t look great, it caused problems because we had already made a couple of subs so we were down to our last one. Jarrad was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch, I thought he played so well.”
On losing to Liverpool: “There’s no shame in how we performed today, we’re playing against one of the teams in the league who expect to be challenging for Champions League and trophies. I think we gave them a good run for their money. I want this team to always be competitive. They didn’t have it their own way.”
