James McClean takes swipe back and mocks Birmingham fans with Instagram post

James McClean takes a swipe back and mocks Birmingham fans with quite the Instagram post after giving it to each other during Monday’s game.

The Wrexham player was seen in footage having objects and abuse aimed at him by Birmingham fans as he was subbed off, making his way around the pitch.

The morning after, he took to Insta and wrote: “They have nothing in their whole imperial arsenal that can break the spirit of an Irishman who doesn’t want to be broken. PS. fair play to the one old steward that held them all back from getting over the 2ft advertising hoardings.”

In another post, he said: “In fairness to this smelly fat gammon, he probs didn’t have the energy or mobility to step over the hoarding.”

Jack Marriott put Wrexham one up just 3 minutes in, but Jay Stansfield proved why he’s worth the ยฃ10m that Birmingham paid by scoring twice, then Tomoki Iwata produced a stunning long-range effort. See more on that HERE.

McClean was taken off in the 83rd minute, and as seen in the videos below, McClean can be seen winding up Birmingham fans as he made his way around the pitch, being booed, and abused and a number of hand gestures made in his direction.

One fan tried to throw a a drink at the Irishman, only for him to catch it and uses the moment to further antagonise the Blues fans.

He also lifted his left short leg to show a tattoo while walking off, slapping his thigh to draw attention to the design which represents Free Derry Corner in the city of his birth.
