Ivan Toney stuns with a spectacular goal from near the halfway line in a friendly played between Brentford and Wolfsburg on Saturday.
The 26 year old returned to action, and produced a long-range effort that the likes of David Beckham and Wayne Rooney would be proud of.
As Thomas Frank’s side get themselves prepared for the Premier League‘s return next week, the striker shrugged off the England snub was playing in the friendly match against the Bundesliga outfit.
Toney put aside his frustrations and unleashed a determined effort just inside the opposition’s half, picking up the ball at the halfway line and unleashed a shot that sent the goalkeeper racing to his goal.
The goalkeeper couldn’t keep it out as Toney rolled away in celebration.

It was Luca Waldschmidt who put Wolsburg in front within 15 minutes following a well-worked move, which finished with the forward putting the ball over Bees goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom.
However, the Bees fought back just before the break, with their first goal thanks to an inch-perfect free-kick from Bryan Mbeumo, which went straight over the wall, before Toney netted that 45-yard strike to make it 2-1.
Wolfsburg got an equaliser with 20 minutes left on the clock, as a free-flowing counter-attack led to 17-year-old forward Dzenan Pejcinovic netting from close range.
The Brentford star was admittedly disappointed to miss out on England’s 26-man squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, despite his excellent early season form.
Toney has been one of the most prolific league stars this season, scoring ten goals in 14 Premier League games.
The season will resume on Boxing Day when the Bees play host Tottenham. The striker will be determined prove Gareth Southgate wrong by not including him in his squad for Qatar, with the Euros qualifying and Nations League now on the mind of the Three Lions boss, who looks set to stay in charge according to reports this week.
VfL head coach Niko Kovac: “It was important for us to end the second week of training with a game. We’re satisfied with the result and with the way the team performed against Brentford. Almost all the players got minutes, so we can head into the next week of training with a good feeling before going on another break.”
