PRESCOT CABLES STATEMENT:
Dear Cables Family,
We hope this message finds you well and as passionate about our club as ever! Last season, we achieved a remarkable milestone by securing promotion to the Northern Premier League, Premier Division. This success was made possible by your unwavering support on the terraces and in the stands. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey!
As this season progresses, we find ourselves facing some unexpected challenges. To maintain our Premier Division status, we need your help once again. The costs associated with competing at this level have significantly increased. We are traveling further for matches, our beloved grass pitch requires more maintenance than ever, and recent postponements have impacted our matchday revenue.
At the same time, we’re continuing to invest in the future of the club with some important improvements to the stadium. These upgrades are essential for meeting league requirements and enhancing the matchday experience for all supporters. However, these projects are being carefully managed with dedicated funding streams and grants, separate from the day-to-day operational costs that your donations will support.
We understand that many of you already contribute generously at the turnstiles and in the bar, and it is with reluctance that we reach out for additional support. However, we believe that as a community asset and a football family, we can come together in times of need.
Your contributions will help us ensure the sustainability of our club and allow us to continue progressing into next season in the Premier Division. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference and helps us keep the spirit of Prescot Cables alive.
Let’s rally together and show our strength as a community. We appreciate your continued support and commitment to our club. Together, we can overcome these challenges and secure a bright future for Prescot Cables Football Club.
Thank you for being part of our journey!

FARSLEY CELTIC STATEMENT:
A new era is dawning at Farsley Celtic Football Club – but we need your help to make it happen.
The club was founded in 1908 and our men’s first team proudly sits in the National League North, a major achievement for a small village club. We have over 400 youth players involved in our youth section, as well as successful deaf and women’s teams. We’re home to people of all ages, backgrounds ,and abilities – as a club we are thriving in many respects and making a real difference to our community.
We’ve faced many challenges over the years and overcome them, but a financial shadow is looming over our club and we really do need your help to ensure we have a future.
We’ve played the past ten months without any home games due to delays in installing a new pitch. As a result, we have had very little revenue, which has led to severe challenges. The chairman this week departed the football club.
This leaves us facing a battle to get through the rest of the season.
Our volunteer-led board is working hard to generate income commercially, but we need help with our running costs to help get us through the season and ensure a bright future for Farsley Celtic.
That’s where you can help provide us with a lifeline.
A donation – whether it’s £1 or whatever you can afford – will be a massive help towards securing our future and ensuring we can continue to thrive as a club, to ensure we can cover our running costs until the end of the season, to help re-lay a grass pitch at The Citadel and to help our stadium meet its ground grading with the league, which is due next month (March).
Farsley Celtic means so much to so many people – fans, to people who pass through our youth setup and who play in our teams. We’re so much more than a football club, we’re a way of life for so many people.
We would truly appreciate your help in challenging times.

Fans react as two non league clubs set up crowdfunders to help meet league requirements…
@_GeorgeFearnley: We’re aware and appreciate this isn’t anyone else’s problem in reality. But we have to have a pitch for the end of next month for league requirements. Even if it’s a couple quid it will go a long way in making our chance of survival a little more likely. Thank you #saveourclub
@paulalexleeds: I’ve been to a few games over the past 3 years with my mates, mainly for the chat and the beers, but sad to see the current situation. Donated what I would have spent one home game. Let’s hope there will be more to come, whatever league that’s in.
@RJP_Writes: Happy to chip in. I hope once you’re ready to return to the village you can rally the local community (particularly local businesses) and make it a big event. I’ll definitely be there. Good luck!
@sonofthepear: Such a sad situation had some nice times at Farsley such a shame it’s come to this
@JamieMorgan1989: Hoping for the best for everyone at Farsley, hopefully you’re back playing at home soon ⚽
@DFCRiver: Over £1000 raised in just four hours. The football community really is something else.
