Hat-trick Harry Kane scores from own half as Bayern’s 8-0 win vs Darmstadt sees 3 red cards

Hat-trick Harry Kane scores from his own half as Bayern’s 8-0 win vs Darmstadt sees 3 red cards in quite the Bundesliga fixture.

The first half saw three red cards, one for Bayern and two for Darmstadt. Joshua Kimmich sent off on 4 minutes, Klaus Gjasula received a red around the 20th minute, then with minutes left of the first half the referee also handed marching orders to Matej Maglica.

Incredibly, the game didn’t see it’s first goal until the 51st minute, with Mazraoui whipping the ball in from the right and Kane dived in to head the ball into the back of the net to make it his 10th Bundesliga goal, and his 12th Bayern goal while it’s 15 for the season for club and country.

It was 2-0 five minutes later, 10-player Bayern turned on the style with nine-player Darmstadt conceding again. Laimer pulled the ball back for Sane, tapping home from inside the six-yard box.

Two minutes after that, a Bayern free-kick from the edge of the penalty area, Kane looked to shoot as Sane runs over the ball, but instead rolled the ball into the path of Musiala, who has time and space to pick his spot, putting it past Schuhen and into the bottom corner.

Sane made it 4-0 on 64 minutes, the ball sat up nicely for him on the edge of the penalty area and he sent a powerful strike and into the corner of the net.

The 69th minute and it was five. Kane spots Schuhen off his line and from inside his own half and sends it the back of the net.

That was followed up with Muller getting on the scoresheet, making it 6-0 two minutes later. The ball was whipped in from the right and Muller was there with a smart finish.

Five minutes later, a seventh for Bayern and a second for Musiala after he played a smart one-two with Muller before firing past Schuhen at his near post, inflicting Darmstadt their heaviest defeat in the Bundesliga.

There was time for another goal, Kane completing his hat-trick on 88 minutes after Sane made his way past five challenges before sliding the ball through for Kane, tripped in the penalty area but made no mistake with his effort. His second Bundesliga hat-trick. 12 goals in nine league matches for Kane. Bayern go top of the league.
