Grimsby launch internal investigation after social media footage involving player emerges

Grimsby Town have decided to launch internal investigation after social media footage involving a player of theirs emerges this week.

The National League outfit have confirmed they are looking into the footage regarding a player, allegedly John McAtee as named in the clip.

An incident occurred in the early hours of Monday the 14th of March and will be reviewed by the club.

A club statement reads: “Grimsby Town Football Club are aware of social media footage relating to one of our players from the early hours of the morning of Monday 14th March 2022.

“The issue is currently being investigated internally by the Club. Accordingly, we will be making no further comment on the matter at this time.”

Grimsby Town will take on Boreham Wood this upcoming Saturday however it’s unclear if the player in question will be available for selection.
