Grimsby Town go viral by having their former player Ivano Bonetti to unveil their new away kit for the upcoming 25/26 season.
Made by Umbro, the League Two club’s stunning new strip is a nod to the Diadora 1994-95 jersey, featuring red and blue vertical stripes with a subtle diamond pattern, a buttoned fold-over collar with white trim, and the club crest.
Sponsors include Myenergi (front), Blackrow (sleeve), Q3 (shorts), and “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” (back). The kit is completed with blue shorts with red trim and matching socks.
A video unveiling the new kit has gone on to get over 200,000 views on Twitter alone at the time of writing, and over thousands of likes across social media.

Ivano Bonetti, an Italian midfielder with Serie A pedigree, joined Grimsby Town on loan in 1995, sparking excitement with his skill and helping the team top Division One briefly.
Fans and Bonetti each raised £50,000 to secure his transfer due to FIFA regulations and a U.S. management company’s control over his rights.
A fractured cheekbone and a fallout with manager Brian Laws led to his departure after 22 appearances and three goals.
His popularity grew after scoring a winning goal against West Brom. However, a 1996 incident where manager Brian Laws threw a plate of chicken wings at Bonetti after a loss, fracturing his cheekbone.
In 1996, Bonetti signed with Tranmere Rovers, where he made 15 appearances with notable moments but left after a short stint.
He later played for Crystal Palace and managed Dundee before retiring.
In 1998, a failed consortium plan aimed to appoint Bonetti as Grimsby’s manager.
His flair left a lasting impression on both clubs’ fans, and his popularity is to be seen on social media following this shirt launch.
