The Serie A striker was held by authorities, at the Caselle Airport in Turin, from boarding despite him flashing paperwork of his own negative test for the deadly illness.
He and teammate Rodrigo Bentancur showed the certification confirming a negative status for coronavirus, so were allowed to fly out of Italy.
They managed to get a regular flight to South America, with Tuttosport since insisting not only were Juventus were aware, but they provided the private jet.
The 32 year old was in quarantine after Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi tested positive, meaning Higuain had been ordered to stay in self-isolation for at least another week.
