Glenn Tamplin’s Romford has been getting a mocking on social media after his side blew a lead and lost to Coggeshall Town.
Phil Roberts emphatically opened the scoring for the home side from 30 yards out with a goal of the season contender.
Maybe our first goal with @glenntamplin in charge is our goal of the season https://t.co/iL6862BBLP

And it’s fair to say Tamplin had a big smile on his face…
And it’s already 1-0 to @RomfordFC and @glenntamplin is buzzing! pic.twitter.com/9jpwi52FVc

However, around 30 minutes into the first half, things turned very horrid for Romford after Ross Wall leveled the score…

Before Tyler Brampton produced a fantastic header to hit the roof of the net four minutes later…

Two minutes after that, Tevan Allen slotted a loose ball past the goalkeeper to put the away side in full control…

That’s where the goals stopped for Coggeshall, and they were left nervous for most of second half after Freddy Moncur got one back on the 56th minute.
Romford couldn’t find an equaliser, but you could say it was a more uplifting performance for those home fans in attendance than in recent times.
Talking of attendances, 524 came through the turnstiles, it turned out to be the club’s biggest gate in 19 years, with their average tend to be around 65/80.
Groundhoppers ‘Two Men in Search of the Beautiful Game’ simply summed up the game:
This is probably the most magnificent half time match report i have ever read. If you different let me know. https://t.co/8klPa6iOda

He added this morning: “As losing is hard to accept for me I Learnt a lot yesterday and have now made the necessary alterations with the right mixed squad of Accademy / young players and experienced men. ???
“5 of my Billericay treble winning players signing for Romford tomorrow, playing next game.”
