‘Ginger Bob’ claims he scared off 120 West Ham hooligans with 11 Millwall pals with footage of his interview doing the rounds online again.
A notorious group of 12 Millwall supporters came up against approximately 120 West Ham fans and hurled petrol bombs at them, according to a former leader of the firm as he reflected on hooliganism in the 1970s and 80s.
One notable figure who rose to prominence within the Millwall Bushwackers, Ginger Bob, began engaging in fights with rival fans from the age of 15.
But now he has recounted an incident with West Ham hooligans, although Hammers fans dispute his stories.

As heard in the video above, he said on James English’s Anything Goes podcast: “We weren’t event tooled up – they were tooled up.
“I said to the guys ‘over you come lads’ and there were 12 of us and we ran at them.
“The Birdman threw a petrol bomb that went 60ft up in the air and as they were trying to get away they dropped their weapons.
“There was a big pile of them, and we just gave them a terrible beating.”
Ginger Bob said on West Ham fans say the incident never happened, “I was there at the front of it. They say it’s a figment of my imagination, but it’s not.”
Daily Star found on a West Ham forum one user who said: “Obviously a case of the story expanding over the years.
“Often the case where a false story becomes the truth as the teller’s imagination creates a different truth for effect
“Probably a case of 12 v 20. Bit of a tear up and Hammers on their toes when a petrol bomb came into the mix.”
Another person wrote: “Everyone’s recollection of the London Bridge incident is different, the petrol bomb was at the start, there were about 40 of us and over a hundred of them.
“We scattered with some running down the stairs onto to Tooley Street and around 12 running to behind the bar that was at London Bridge where there were plenty of bottles to chuck to hold back the West Ham;
“After a couple of minutes there were police sirens coming from everywhere which is probably where they dropped their weapons and dispersed a bit lively.”
Cardiff fans also had this to say..
Cardiff Lads say Millwall Hooligan Ginger Bob is Full Of Shit about the West Ham row!

He also revealed the “toughest firm” he’d ever come up against, saying, per Daily Star: “I’ve got to give it to Cardiff City. Cardiff had an around 3-4,000-person-strong firm while Millwall – with around 300 – had nowhere to run. My mates thought they were going to die.
“The best row I had ever seen was on March 18, 1976. We had 300 firm and they had 2,000… and some of our people were getting stabbed.
“One of my friends got captured by Cardiff and he was being beaten to death… so I’ve gone back into Cardiff’s firm and pulled him along the floor.
“Because of the adrenaline I managed to pull him back, but when we got back to the station Cardiff’s firm and the police were all laughing.”
Officers got them onto an empty train to London, just 50 of the group did so, with Ginger Bob telling 250 of them to go kick out at the Cardiff mob, around 2,000 of them.
“We kicked the gates in, ran riot, and smashed all the pubs up. The police had to come back and force us back. That was a day before my 18th birthday – it was just like the wild west.”
Here’s how Twitter users reacted as ‘Ginger Bob’ claims he scared off 120 West Ham hooligans with 11 Millwall pals…
@MartinMurray40: Lying through his tooth
@boxerjayspeight: I think a few of that 120 people ran off with his teeth #WestHamToothFairy
@anon_welsh: File under FICTION
@Ian_A_Irwin: Is this chap available for legal or financial advice?
@PatTateRisen: Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most.
@kevinsnaith84:
All credibility goes out the window when a bloke throws a “petrol bomb 60ft in the air”. That’s over 18m.
Things that are 18m high
A Utility Pole
10 Audi Q7 pilled high
2.5 two story house
4 double decker busses
😂😂😂😂 get in the bin Jackanory
@Shadders5: Pathetic individual
@ianmckee58: 120 tooled up West Ham vs 12 Millwall without weapons? I’d fancy FGR to stand their ground tbf. Let alone one of the most feared football firms in he country
@NUFC_JEB: What a load of fucking shit 🤣
@splbanter: judging by his teeth he didn’t win many fights
@StreetwiseStu79: Could you imagine being a grown fella, early 50’s and actually telling this story as if it was true? If he’d have said 12 Millwall did 20-25 West Ham it may have sounded a bit more plausible, even then you’d have doubts. But 12 running 120!!! Leave it out mate
@Darren6285: He threw a petrol bomb 60feet in the air, my question has I’ve ever come down or is it still spinning there?
@Cole81Stevie: Apparently he had a full set of teeth before that fight started 🤷🏻
