Gabby Agbonlahor defends Jack Grealish spotted ‘passed out’ at a bar after ‘boozy’ afternoon

Gabby Agbonlahor defends Jack Grealish who was spotted ‘passed out’ at a bar after he reportedly had a ‘boozy’ afternoon.

The 30 year old player, who is currently recovering from an injury, at a rooftop venue, Stories in Manchester and had reportedly been boozing with pals at 4:30pm Saturday.

But then was photographed asleep an hour later, with an onlooker saying to The Sun: “Pals tried to wake him. The booze must have caught up with him.”

Gabby Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT: My my first thoughts was I’ve been in that situation and it just shows the sort of people that are out there around him that like are taking pictures and what they’re doing with the pictures. Do you know what I mean?

“Happened to me quite a few times and you’re just like, “Come on.” Do you know what I mean? I’ve gotten a better better life and taking pictures and this and that.

“Listen, he’s been through a lot. He’s been through a season ending injury. He’s doing his rehab. I’ve seen his… what he’s been doing in his rehab. He’s working hard to get back. I think he’s back available to train in July he said to me the other day.

“Listen, he won’t be happy that those pictures have come out. But I’m sure when he’s at training, when he’s there doing his rehab, he’s doing everything right. But it just sums up this world we live in now. People want to take pictures and send them off. And honestly…

Ally McCoist said: “Might just be the worst invention on the planet. The camera phone. I’m telling you right now, scandalous for the boy. I think the boys now that listen, it’s not a good look.

“Of course, it’s not a good look. Let’s not kill ourselves on, right? But at the same time, what happened to a bit of privacy? You know what I mean?”

Olivia Buzaglo said: “He is, but he’s going to the most popular… Listen, there’s plenty of places you could go as a as a professional footballer with the access that you have to like I understand obviously wanted to go to a popular spot. It’s a really a really lovely place. You have to understand that with that comes people that are going to be like that’s Jack Grealish.”

Gabby: “But also people do moan that all these footballers they they’ll rent out a bar and no one can go in it cuz they got all this money now. But then a footballer comes out and goes to a place where the people are and they take advantage of taking pictures because that’s what footballers do now. They’re earning that much money, Ally, they will rent out a restaurant. They will pay like tens of thousands of pounds to rent somewhere out and then they’ve got their own people there and there’s no phones. Footballers will do that now. It’s a different generation. So can’t win, can you?”

Olivia: “The only thing I would you not want your friends there once you get into a situation like that just remove him from the situation.”

Ally: “Yeah, but they probably are there.”

Olivia: “You suppose they’re probably all all very… you don’t know.”

Ally: “Listen, not a good look. I just hope the wee man’s fit and hopefully running to start the season. Gabby, I love Jack. I think he’s fantastic. I think he’s an excellent player. I think he’s unbelievable with the with the kids and the public and all that. I really do. I think he’s a perfect example of how a modern day football player should handle themselves with the fans. Mate, you can’t be doing this. He can’t be doing it.

Gabby: “Yeah. I think he’ll be he’ll be disappointed like I said earlier that like those pictures have got out there. Like I said, Ally, I I I’ve been there, you know, where I’ve been pictured and you wake up maybe the next morning, you’re like ah that picture’s got out. Someone’s took a picture and obviously sold it on. It’s terrible.”

Ally: “I mean that that that that in itself is inexcusable, right? But whether we like it or not and we don’t like it, I certainly really dislike it. That’s a world we’re living in.”

Gabby: “I was nowhere near Jack Grealish, but even during my time under Martin O’Neil, I remember going to restaurants alley and literally like getting photographed outside restaurants and stuff and even like sometimes when I went out, you were going through the club down through a restaurant to get out the back door where a car would be there, you know? Like I know it’s hard to complain because you got one of the best jobs in the world, but I didn’t like that other side that come with it. When I look at some of the real famous people out there, Ally, I’m like, I don’t envy you where you can’t go anywhere. You can’t go anywhere without someone taking a picture. But moving it on to football, you know, I think he’s back or able to train in July, so I’m sure we’re back preseason. I think he’s got another year at Manchester City. So, I think he goes on loan again. And I’m sure David Moyes would have him back because he was in outstanding form before his injury. But at 30 years of age now, he’s won it all. Go and enjoy your football somewhere. And he’s really enjoying it.

Ally: Go and enjoy your football away from it.

Gabby: Go and enjoy it as well. Be a bit more careful. Be a bit more careful.

In February, Grealish posted via Instagram: “Didn’t want the season to end like this but that’s football, gutted.

“Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.

“The support I’ve had since coming to this unbelievable club has meant the world to me.

“The staff, my teammates and especially the fans have been incredible and I absolutely love representing this club.

“I’ll be backing the lads all the way and doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the love, it means so much. UTFT 💙💙💙”
